Bayern Munich – FC Copenhagen betting tip
The experiment of the Billy Goats to face the record champions last Bundesliga weekend with an unusual back three was not crowned with success.
However, Munich confined themselves to merely managing the 1:0 lead and failed to show full commitment, especially after the break.
As you know, Tuchel’s side already have both feet in the last 16 of the Champions League. And my Bayern Munich FC Copenhagen betting tip reveals whether they can put on a more convincing performance for the fans in the Allianz Arena this time around.
It may be hard to believe, but despite all expectations, the visitors from Copenhagen have a real chance of reaching the knockout phase.
While Bayern, who have already qualified, will probably only do the bare minimum, soccer fans can expect a passionate performance from the visitors, who seem to have tasted blood on matchday 5 of the UCL group stage.
My Bayern Munich FC Copenhagen prediction will present data that won’t flatter the Danes, but I won’t let that put me off my Interwetten sports betting!
The bookmaker forecast
When I saw the current Bayern Munich FC Copenhagen betting odds, I really wasn’t in a bad mood.
Calling 1.23 for an FCB win is pretty bold, especially when you consider how hard the record champions had to live up to their role as favorites against Galatasaray a few weeks ago.
On the other hand, the odds of 12 for a three-pointer for the Danes are a “real incentive” to use a sports betting app.
However, it should remain with the thought, because the data I presented stamps this scenario as almost hopeless.
Analysis: Bayern Munich vs. FC Copenhagen
In the end, Cologne were too greedy! In the first half against FC Bayern, the cathedral city team ventured too far out and ran into several dangerous counter-attacks, one of which was exploited with ice-cold precision.
Nevertheless, I was anything but enthusiastic about what the record champions offered on Black Friday. Although the Billy Goats didn’t have a single goal chance worth mentioning during the entire match, a 1:0 win is and remains pretty meagre.
While the game at least offered the incentive to temporarily occupy the top spot in the Bundesliga table with three points, the upcoming match against the Danes offers no motivation whatsoever from FCB’s point of view.
This does not mean that Munich will concede the game, but in my opinion this fact has not been sufficiently taken into account in the very one-sided betting odds
After all, Copenhagen celebrated a memorable 4:3 victory over Manchester United on the last matchday, which not only catapulted them back into the race for 2nd place, but should also have motivated them extremely.
After their victory over the Red Devils, however, the Danes will have to try to win two consecutive games in the same Champions League season for only the second time in their own club’s history.
The last time they managed to do so was when they won their first two group games in the 2010/11 season against Rubin Kazan and Panathinaikos. The ManUtd/Bayern “combo”, however, represents a much greater challenge.
Analysis of odds
Taking a Copenhagen win – and I’ll back this up with data in the next section – is far too bold a betting maneuver.
But from a “double chance X2” at odds of around 4.10 to an away win with handicap +3 at around 1.55, it’s a matter of judgment how much risk you want to take.
In any case, these scenarios are all much more promising and will also pay out much better than a three-pointer for Munich, which the record champions will certainly not get for free.
First win over a Bundesliga club?
In their 13 previous attempts, FC Copenhagen have never won a European Cup match against a German team (4 draws, 9 defeats).
Only APOEL Nicosia (16) have played German teams more often in the history of international soccer without winning.
Bayern, on the other hand, have won all four of their previous home games in European competitions against Danish opponents, with all four victories coming against different teams.
If you want to know exactly: 2:1 against Køge BK in 1976, 3:1 against AGF Aarhus in 1979, 1:0 against B 1903 København in 1991 and 2:0 against Brøndby IF in 1998.
Bayern flawless in group matches
Bayern Munich have lost only one of their last 21 home games in the Champions League (18 wins, 2 draws) and have remained unbeaten in their last 12 games (10 wins, 2 draws),
To be precise, since the defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in April 2021 (2:3).
What’s more, FCB have not conceded points in a home game in the group stage of this competition since October 2018 (1-1 against Ajax), which also means the chances of the Danes winning are almost nil
Harry Kane, meanwhile, has been where he should be for weeks – even against Cologne!
In the 1-0 win at the weekend, the Englishman was in the perfect position to calmly slide a ball that had been scraped off the line into the net.
Consequently, according to the German bookmakers, he is also the player most likely to score this Wednesday at the Allianz Arena
Harry Kane has already been involved in six goals in four appearances for Bayern Munich in the top flight (4 goals, 2 assists), with no other player having scored more in the first four matchdays of the 2023/24 edition.
In fact, his average performance of a goal or assist every 59 minutes is currently his best in a single season in this competition
Bayern should never underestimate the Danes, especially after their strong performance against Manchester United just before the international break.
But those who seem to be underestimating FC Copenhagen are instead the bookmakers, who have given the record champions almost microscopic odds to win.
Of course, FCB would clearly win this game if they put their money where their mouth is, but after their half-hearted performance against the Billy Goats at the weekend and with a ticket to the round of 16 already secured, I have slight doubts about their role as favorites.
My Bayern Munich FC Copenhagen betting tip is therefore: Win Copenhagen with handicap +3
