Bremen – Leverkusen Tip

Just one point apart, Leverkusen face Werder Bremen on Sunday evening.

Both teams are stuck in mid-table and are similarly far away from the international places as they are from the relegation places.

Thus, this duel will be all the more groundbreaking, as there are only 10 matchdays left until the end of the season.

Leverkusen will be hoping to take the momentum with them after their 2-0 win in the Europa League, while Bremen will have to be careful not to suffer their fourth defeat in six games.

Both teams are well aware of the importance of this clash, which is why I predict a close but high-scoring game in my Bremen Leverkusen prediction.

The prediction of the betting companies?

Although Leverkusen have only won one of their last five matches and only one point separates the two teams, the Werkself are the clear favourites with odds of around 2.10 at online bookmakers.

However, this may also be due to the current form of the Bremen side, who have not celebrated much success recently and are therefore rightly clearly inferior with a value of around 3.40.

It remains to be seen whether this will be reflected in the match, as the Bremen side has often managed to take a point in recent duels.

However, the bookies consider a draw to be even less likely than a win for Bremen and offer odds of around 3.60 for a draw.

Analysis: Bremen vs. Leverkusen

The goal of staying in the league is getting closer and closer. With 30 points from 23 games, Werder Bremen are a good distance away from the relegation places.

However, there are currently few reasons to break out in great euphoria. The performance of the Werder team has been too inconsistent in recent weeks.

In addition to three victories, they have recently suffered three defeats and their overall record of seven defeats in the last 10 games is rather sobering.

The game against Augsburg was also sobering. Despite 20:9 shots on goal and 62% possession, the Bremen side ended up with no points.

With Niklas Füllkrug, they currently have the best scorer in the league. With 14 goals, he has already played a big part in their current position in the table.

Nevertheless, he has only scored one goal in the last five games. But defensively, too, the score has rarely been zero this season.

With 43 goals conceded, Werder has the third-worst defence in the league, which suits Leverkusen’s offensive very well. Nevertheless, the odds of around 1.83 for two goals from Alonso’s team are relatively high.

Ods analysis

For sure, a win bet on the Bayer eleven seems lucrative, although not completely risk-free, as both teams tended to cheer in the last meetings.

In 6 of the most recent 7 duels, goals were scored on both sides. That’s why the odds of 1.53 on “both teams score” are not really high.

However, goals on both sides often lead to a draw and there have been plenty of draws in the last few years, namely in four of the last five duels.

Therefore, a double chance bet on the team from the Weser at Bwin Sportwetten with odds of around 1.70 is not so far off the mark.

Will Leverkusen take the momentum from the EL with them?

In the European Cup, Bayer are in top form and have a very good chance of progressing to the next round with their win against Budapest.

And in the league, too, Xabi Alonso has put the Werkself back on track. Before he took over as coach, Bayer was in last place.

Thanks to the very convincing 4:1 victory against Hertha at the weekend, Leverkusen are well on their way to the top third of the table.

The winning streak is mainly thanks to Frimpong and Diaby, as together the duo has already scored 14 goals this season, making them Leverkusen’s top scorers.

Nevertheless, the bookmakers are throwing higher odds into the ring for goals from both players, close to the 3.00 mark.

Does the Werkself remain consistent away from home?

However, the chances of an away win against Bremen are not that bad either, as Leverkusen have only lost one of their last five games in foreign stadiums.

All in all, Leverkusen have picked up a total of 10 points from their last five away games. So it will be anything but easy for Bremen.

Bayer have also won a number of games at the Weser Stadium in recent years by at least a two-goal difference.

Although Leverkusen are the favourites in this match, the overall record speaks a different language. In a total of 83 BL duels, Bremen lead with 27 victories and thus have five more than the Werkself.

However, Ole Werner’s side have not shared points with any other team as often as they have with Leverkusen (34).

In contrast, things have looked rather bad for Bremen against Bayer in recent years. Only one win from the last 10 encounters are poor arguments for a sense of achievement for the Weser eleven.

In addition, the last home win was more than six years ago and the Bremen side has been really dominated at times in recent games.

My Bremen Leverkusen tip:

Seldom has a draw been as close as in this match. In four of the last five encounters there was a draw and also in the overall balance most games ended in a draw.

However, I wouldn’t necessarily bet on tip X, as Leverkusen are currently in good form away from home and Bremen have looked less good at home against the Werkself in recent years.

In addition, it was also evident against Augsburg that efficiency is currently somewhat lacking. On the other hand, Bremen has a similarly good duo in Ducksch and Füllkrug as Leverkusen has in Diaby and Frimpong.

Since there were many goals in the last duels, I bet on the offensive lines of both teams and predict a high-scoring match with goals on both sides.

My Bremen Leverkusen tip is: Both teams score & Over 2.5 goals.
