Süper Lig, Tuesday, 30.05.2023

Two mini chances, but how much hope? Fenerbahce are five points behind Galatasaray in the Süper Lig, so how hard it will be to win the title probably doesn’t need to be calculated at this point.

For the Canaries, it’s all about second place, so a win in their last home game would do them a world of good. In my Fenerbahce Antalyaspor tip, I will therefore reveal why I share Betano’s role as favourite and bet on a Fenerbahce win including “Over 1.5 goals”!

Only one defeat since the beginning of January, only five losses in total and by far the best offensive team in Turkey with 82 goals? No question, based on these statistics they would have deserved the championship title!

If it weren’t for arch-rivals Galatasaray, who have just collected five more points and boast a stout defence. Almost everyone believes that Fenerbahce will not finish 2023 with the championship title either.

Competitors Besiktas, one game more on the account, are currently level on points and also win the direct comparison, in that respect the Canaries would do well to set the times for fixed second place on Tuesday.

The fact that the direct comparison against Besiktas was lost already shows what was a big problem of what was actually a very consistent 2023. 0:3 against Gala and 2:4 against Besiktas, Fener went down in the derbies of all things!

In recent weeks, there have also been lapses against Istanbulspor (3:3) and Giresunspor (1:1). When Galatasaray made a mistake, Fenerbahce simply could not take advantage of it. But the cup final is still on the agenda in mid-June.

The 82 goals scored should not remain the last, and Enner Valencia in particular has a lot planned for the final home match of the season. Only one goal from the last five games?

With 28 goals in total, the Ecuadorian certainly doesn’t want to go into the summer break with such a rate. Fener have scored 45 times at home, giving them a home average of 4.3 goals per match

Also because in 16 of the past 17 games they have always conceded goals, the most recent 3:0 against Hatayspor on the green table of course not included. At the beginning of November, the fans last saw a home match with less than three goals.

In the first half of the season, the Canaries overcame a deficit to win 2-1 in Antalya. Only one of the last eleven direct duels has been lost, but the most recent three home games curiously fell short by 2.5 goals.

For our bettors, the question of who they see ahead on Tuesday is answered quite quickly. On average, the odds come to 1.40 at 6.80. Antalyaspor even brings some pressure in the relegation battle.

The Red and Whites are four points ahead of the critical places, and they have simply never been consistent throughout the entire season. For the first time since the turn of the year, it could now happen that they fail to win four matches in a row.

Admittedly, with Besiktas (1:3) and Basaksehir (0:0), two of these three matches also featured very strong opponents. However, I notice that Antalyaspor have not lost for four away matches.

Three times there was only a draw, but still! Nevertheless, the club is far from being one of the best away from home: Just three games have been won in total!

15 own goals have been scored, also this fact should not scare Fenerbahce’s offensive artists. Nine of them have come from top scorer Haji Wright, who was also successful against Fener in the first leg.

The championship has become a distant memory for Fenerbahce, but only at the end will the reckoning be made. Second place should now be secured for the Canaries, of course they want to achieve that with their offensive strength.

Nobody can hold a candle to them in attack, but add to that the fact that they haven’t played to nil for months and their home games have always included three or more goals since the beginning of November.

Antalyaspor are anything but in form, with three measly wins away from home. This naturally leads me to opt for a win bet, with the following addition:

Fenerbahce win by more than 1.5 goals!
