Premier League, Friday, 17/03/2023

Some want to avoid the relegation battle, others want to take the fight for the Champions League. This is how the 28th matchday of the Premier League begins.

On Friday evening, the Reds welcome the Magpies. A duel which, judging by the current form of both clubs, is a crisis duel.

Accordingly, my Nottingham Newcastle tip assumes a close game with little risk on both sides.

The Tricky Trees seem to be in a bad way at the moment. They came out of the World Cup break in good shape and have won the direct duels with the competition in particular.

After remaining unbeaten in the first five games of the new calendar year, they have now waited five match days for a win.

To make matters worse, their rivals Southampton, Everton and Bournemouth have also been busy scoring recently. Suddenly they are back in the relegation battle.

But in front of their home crowd, Cooper’s team has always been able to rely on its own strength. They haven’t lost for nine home games now!

The Magpies’ form on home soil has been in the opposite direction. For four games they have been waiting for a three-pointer away from home.

While the defence is the showpiece of the nouveau riche club anyway, the attack is weakening. They have scored only one goal in the past four away games.

No wonder, then, why the bookmakers at Happybet, among others, do not expect the visitors to score in their Nottingham Newcastle betting tips.

For a game with over 1.5 goals for coach Eddie Howe’s team, the odds are just under 1.90. For a team with Champions League aspirations, that is an enormously high value.

And yet, the Magpies are clearly getting a better win prediction from the bookmakers. Could the Reds still surprise?

Therefore, the odds in the double chance betting in the Nottingham Newcastle tip seem attractive, should they actually manage a surprise.

At Bwin & Co. the value is just over 2.00, should they remain unbeaten in their tenth Premier League home game in a row.

The Tricky Trees’ ability to steal points from top teams like Manchester City and stumbling giants like Chelsea and Liverpool at their home City Ground was also down to their attack.

After all, they have managed to score at least one goal in all 13 home games this season.

It will be exciting to see if they can prove that offensive prowess against the league’s current best defence. To date, the Magpies have conceded just 18 goals.

A slight tendency could emerge ahead of this game, however, when it comes to the question of the number of goals in Nottingham Newcastle betting tips.

Like Neobet, the over/under bets tend to favour a low-scoring game at the under 2.5 goal mark with odds of 1.74.

These predictions are supported by two statistics in particular: Four of the Reds’ last five home games and four of the Magpies’ most recent five away games have come away with fewer than three goals.

It should also be interesting to note that the match is likely to be decided early on. In ten of the last eleven games involving the Howe eleven, less than 1.5 goals have been scored in the second half.

So we can expect a competitive game in which the famous little things will be decisive.

In front of a home crowd, the Tricky Trees have often romped to points against supposed favourites. Why not this time too?

My Nottingham Newcastle tip is therefore: The Reds won’t lose!
