Three games without a win? That’s unusual! Real Madrid have to be careful not to fall behind in the title race. In Spain, a trio is very close together, the royals have to get out of their little crisis very quickly.
On Sunday, they have to score three points at the Bernabeu and carry the CL momentum with them. In my Real Madrid Girona tip, I’ll tell you why I have no doubts about a favorite victory here – and even recommend a 0:1 handicap on top.
51 points for Barcelona and Real Madrid, 50 for Atletico – this is exactly the kind of race we wanted at the top of the Primera Division! The top three teams alternate with weaker phases, and currently it is the turn of the clubs from the capital.
Real Madrid were in great form, but when February began, they suddenly ran into problems. 0-1 at Espanyol Barcelona, 1-1 against Atletico and 1-1 against Osasuna, they have not won in three games!
Unusually, there were not even two games in a row without a win. Two goals from these three matches? Unbelievable for a team that scored a hat-trick against Manchester City twice in the last few days.
Real Madrid survived the play-offs in the Champions League without a hitch (3-3 and 3-1), with Kylian Mbappe scoring three times in the second leg, confirming his great form.
He has scored seven times in the last four league games, with only two goals coming from other professionals during this period. He was also successful in the first leg against Girona, which Madrid won easily 3-0 a few weeks ago.
In this respect, I absolutely support a goal bet at the weekend. If you think that odds of 1.69 are too low, I found them in the Bet365 app. You could, of course, also raise the stakes and bet on Mbappe scoring at least two goals. In this case, the odds are 4.00.
The fact that the small league crisis can be ended at home is definitely an advantage. With nine wins, a draw against Atletico and the defeat in the Clasico against Barca, the statistics from the Bernabeu read quite well.
It is particularly strong that eight of the nine victories had a handicap of at least -1. If I still want to find something to complain about, then perhaps that since the beginning of December there has been no clean sheet.
In the last five home games, 13 goals have already been scored before half-time, five after. Not uninteresting, so betting on more happening in the first half against Girona could be worthwhile for you.
It fits that Real had already led 2-0 after the first 45 minutes against ManCity. If you are right here and have placed this bet, then hopefully with Betano. Here you get odds of 3.00!
6:3, 4:2, 1:1 and 4:0? The four previous home games against Girona in the league were neither boring nor unsuccessful. Real even kept a clean sheet in the last three, regardless of the venue, while always scoring at least three goals themselves.
So it’s easy to see why the bookmakers are offering such clear odds. The home side are leading with average values of 1.25 to 8.00.
Girona, the surprise team of the past season, have not been able to carry their form over into the new season. The Catalans are in tenth place, having lost 11 of their 24 games, including four of the last five.
Since October, they have only been defeated by teams ranked 14th at best in the table. Their results against the top teams? 0-3 against Bilbao, 0-3 against Real, 0-3 against Atletico and 1-4 against Barca!
The only success in the first half of the season was a 2-1 win against Bilbao, scored from the penalty spot in the last second of extra time. The Reds definitely don’t like playing away, winning only three of twelve games.
The ten goals scored also show the problems, at home the offense manages more than twice as much. Only twice has a double scored. In addition, Girona could now lose three away games in a row for the first time.
The Champions League form must be taken into the league! After the last three games, Real Madrid are under pressure in the league and can no longer afford any slip-ups. However, a home game is always considered a safe bet.
If they win here, it’s almost always by a clear margin. It’s a good thing that Girona are coming to town, as they are not performing well away from home. In particular, I have noticed their lack of offense, and their general condition is simply not good.
Since the Madrilenians have won the last three duels very clearly anyway and the royal class certainly gives them a broad chest, I have decided on the following bet:
Real wins with a HC of -1!
