Serie A 27th matchday, Saturday, 01/03/2025 at 18:00
And so it comes to a showdown after all! For months, it has been clear that the battle for the Scudetto would come down to a neck-and-neck race between Inter and Napoli – even if Atalanta continue to hold their own!
But this duel between the “Nerazzurri” and the southern Italians could already bring a small preliminary decision with it.
The hosts want to play to their home strength in the legendary Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, while Internazionale travel to the Vesuvius as the strongest team in Serie A.
Both have their strengths, both have their weaknesses – so who will take the decisive step in the race for the championship? My Naples Inter Milan prediction gives you the answer!
SSC have been on a downward spiral recently, largely because injuries and departures have severely disrupted the functioning of the offense. I will go into this in more detail in my Naples Inter Milan betting tip!
In this difficult situation, the showdown with Inter comes at the worst possible time for the southern Italians, when betting sites will be using tons of betano promo codes.
The game could save or break the Azzurri’s season – a win could help turn things around, while a defeat would deal a lasting blow to Conte’s team’s morale.
What do the betting companies predict?
This is a real neck-and-neck race! The Naples vs. Inter Milan odds are almost identical – and that’s no wonder, because both teams can almost keep pace at the Stadio Diego Maradona.
Nevertheless, the favorite is still Inter Milan, with an average win rate of 2.40, while that of SSC, at around 3.15, expresses a minimal amount of skepticism on the part of betting providers with PayPal.
Analysis: Napoli vs Inter Milan
Napoli face the league leaders Inter Milan in the first game of the season, which is favored by the bookmakers to be a guest at Diego Maradona.
A win would see them move top of the table, although their current form makes that a dubious proposition – after all, they have not won their last four league games (3 draws, 1 defeat).
This is also a real indictment of their performance! Only four Serie A teams have performed worse than SSC in their last four games, and all of them are fighting to avoid relegation.
For Napoli, it is crucial to show a reaction in order to stay in the title race. However, of the last 11 Serie A games against Inter, they have only won one (4 draws, 6 defeats).
Internazionale, on the other hand, want to defend the top spot in the table with a win and at the same time give their former coach Antonio Conte a taste of their steel!
Milan have not been at their convincing best recently, with just two wins from their last five league games, but they did manage to beat Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals during the week.
Odds Analysis
A 0-0 half-time draw at 2.60 is a really interesting Naples-Inter Milan tip, especially considering that Conte’s team have had a cautious start in some of their recent games.
The team could set themselves up well defensively in the first half and try to control the game slowly.
“1st goal: Inter Milan” at 1.95 also seems worthwhile!
Because even if it turns out to be a close, hard-fought match at the foot of Vesuvius, I still believe Inter will score the first goal – even if it’s in the final minutes of the game.
Napoli knows how to avoid conceding goals after the break!
From an SSC point of view, a false start must be avoided at all costs. Especially since this team has already lost a lot of self-confidence in the past few weeks. Nevertheless, you can expect that it could be 0-0 even after the break.
After all, Conte’s team are experts at avoiding conceding late goals. Napoli have only allowed two home goals after half-time this Serie A season – the lowest number in the entire Serie A.
Napoli is missing several key players!
There are other indications that lead me to expect a low-scoring encounter. Because some can’t, while others don’t want to.
Do you remember the phase in which Bergamo recently went downhill? That was directly related to the injury of Ademola Lookman, the driving force in the offense.
Similarly, Napoli have two important absentees who could continue to pull the plug on the Neapolitan offense: the departed Kvaratskhelia and the injured David Neres, who is joined by Anguissa.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, could once again be more defensive than usual in order to protect their reserve keeper.
In the end, however, it could turn out the way it usually does. If someone scores after the break, it will be Inter Milan, who look a bit stronger.
After all, SSC Napoli has always conceded at least one goal in the last 10 duels against the northern Italians – a clear tendency that underlines the danger of conceding a late goal on Saturday.
My tip:
Napoli is lacking in offensive power, and the weakened attack is finding it difficult to be dangerous. Romelu Lukaku in particular has looked decidedly pale in recent weeks!
Thanks to its composure and better overall quality, Inter is therefore expected to win by a narrow margin, even though the game is likely to be fiercely contested from start to finish.
My Naples Inter Milan betting tip: Double chance X2 & under 3.5 goals.
