AC Milan vs Lazio Rome – a real top match in Serie A, in which I don’t see a clear favorite. While the Rossoneri have been shaky of late, Lazio seem to be a little better prepared mentally and could salvage at least a draw – if not more!
My AC Milan Lazio Rome tip: The visitors will get something worthwhile. Incidentally, if you’re still looking for a sports betting deposit bonus, you can secure the best offers right now.
The Rossoneri suffered a bitter setback during the week. The 2-1 defeat against Bologna saw them slip down the table, three points behind the European places.
Milan not only want to end their two-game league losing streak against Lazio on Sunday, but also avoid losing three Serie A games in a row for the first time since February 2023.
That makes the game hugely important for the home side – especially as they could regain their place in the international places with a win over a direct rival.
However, if they fail to do so, I can well imagine that the AC board are already thinking about who could replace the next failed Portuguese coach in the future…
One advantage for AC: they traditionally do well against the Romans. They have won six of the last eight head-to-head meetings and have even won all of the last five encounters in front of a home crowd.
The Rossoneri are therefore enjoying a strong run against the capital city side at the San Siro and will do everything in their power to extend it. However, their home form has not been consistently convincing of late.
A closer look: Even though Milan have remained unbeaten in their last eight league home games, five of them have only ended in a draw.
In addition, the traditional club have only won one Serie A game this season against a team that was better placed in the table on the matchday (3 draws, 5 defeats) – a record that definitely needs to be improved if they are to make it into Europe.
Lazio Roma, on the other hand, will be looking to establish themselves in the top flight and continue their pursuit of the Champions League places. With Juventus under their noses, every point is at stake for the “Biancocelesti”.
But the league is not the only decisive factor: the Romans will be competing in the Europa League round of 16 just a few days later and could also secure a ticket to the top flight via this competition.
However, this double burden could also become an obstacle, as the first leg against Viktoria Plzeň awaits directly after the clash with Milan. A small advantage for the home side, then, as the visitors could already be thinking about the – admittedly seemingly solvable – international task…
After all, the capital team feel comfortable in foreign stadiums: they have won six of their last nine Serie A away games (1 draw, 2 defeats).
But one major shortcoming remains: They struggle away from home against teams from the top half of the table – losing four of their last five games against such opponents.
The recent 2-0 cup defeat to Inter, which I correctly predicted, underlines this problem. Especially in the big games away from home, Lazio rarely manage to get a point. However, Milan are not quite as good as their city rivals at the moment …
Who will come out on top in this head-to-head clash? Milan want to keep their last chance of reaching the international ranks, while Lazio Rome want to keep their eyes on the top. History clearly favors the home side, but the pressure is huge.
A tight affair – and perhaps a game in which a late goal will decide the match.

After 13 competitive matches in a row, in which a winner was always determined, the two clubs played out a draw against each other for the first time in the current first half of the season (2:2).
But why not do it again? In fact, looking at the current AC Milan Lazio Rome odds, I rate a simple draw bet as one of the best bets when it comes solely to the risk/reward ratio.
Even if there is a draw at the San Siro on Sunday, that doesn’t mean it has to be goalless.
And based on our experience from the last few matches together, I’m inclined to believe that the betting offer “1st goal: AC Milan” at odds of around 1.72 could well pay off.
After all, the Rossoneri have scored 1:0 in 5 of their last 6 home games against their upcoming opponents!
Conclusion: Milan are weakening and are under pressure after recent disappointing results. The “Rossoneri” have the home advantage on their side, but Lazio seem more mentally stable and could strike coldly here.
The Romans are also defensively solid and know how to keep close games alive. A draw is absolutely possible – but perhaps the visitors could even pull off the big coup at the San Siro!
My AC Milan Lazio Rome tip: Double chance X2
