Arsenal – Newcastle Tip, Prediction & Odds 18.05.2025

Premier League, Sunday, 18.05.2025 at 17:30

It’s entering the penultimate phase, the crazy battle for the Champions League! Liverpool are champions, Arsenal are almost certain to qualify for the Champions League. However, the gap between seventh and ninth place is incredibly tight, making a prediction almost impossible.

My Arsenal Newcastle tip is therefore as exciting as it gets, with the visitors under particular pressure. Accordingly, I am putting my faith in the Magpies for Sunday’s game and predicting at least one point for the visitors!

68 points for Arsenal, 66 for Newcastle, 65 for Manchester City, 63 for Chelsea and Aston Villa, 62 for Nottingham? Between second and seventh place, there’s barely enough room for a sheet of paper!

The Premier League will get five Champions League spots for next season. Liverpool have secured the first, and the Gunners probably have the second. Newcastle’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League are good, but it’s not over yet.

I’ll start my analysis with Arsenal, because they can’t really go wrong in the Champions League. That’s not a given, though, because the Londoners have been struggling in recent weeks.

They have won three of their last eleven matches and are currently without a win in three games – the momentum has gone. At first, it seemed as if Arsenal were focusing on the Champions League, but then they suffered a narrow semi-final defeat against PSG.

For the first time this season, they have conceded two goals in three consecutive games. Once before, in the fall, the Gunners failed to win four games in a row.

A defeat against Bournemouth and a draw against Liverpool – that was the case both then and now! Accordingly, the current match against Newcastle could well be a bad omen.

In the first half of the season, they lost 0-1 to Newcastle. What followed was a double 0-2 defeat in the FA Cup. Four of the last five games against the Magpies have been lost, and in six of the last eight, the Londoners have not even scored.

Accordingly, the bet “Arsenal will not score” might be a good option for Sunday – although it does carry a certain risk, of course. At Betano, the tip would come in at a high 2.55.

Arsenal have only finished two home games without scoring in 2024/25 – but there was the 0-2 defeat at the Emirates against Newcastle in the FA Cup. On the other hand, the team has already recorded 13 half-time leads at home.

Interesting: Eight times there was a 1-0 score after the first 45 minutes. If that happens for the ninth time on Sunday, you can expect odds of 2.60 or 4.00 for the specific result.

Nine of the last ten matches against Newcastle, incidentally, also ended with less than 2.5 goals. If you prefer this bet, the odds are a strong 2.10. Speaking of favorites: The ESC final will take place in Basel on May 17. You can of course place your bets on this too.

Incidentally, the general odds for a home win at our bookmakers with PayPal are 1.95 to 3.75. However, the visitors should not go into the game with too much respect.

Newcastle has the Champions League completely in its own hands, having lost only one of its last nine games. Interestingly, the team has only drawn once in its last 22 games.

That 1-1 draw against Brighton almost didn’t happen, as Alexander Isak equalized from the penalty spot shortly before the final whistle. With 68 goals, the offensive output is impressive, with only Liverpool scoring more.

The Magpies have failed to score in the first half 13 times – and lost 11 of those games. If you want to bet that there will be a goal at the Emirates before half-time, the Betano odds are 2.27.

With two wins from their last six away games, not everything points to points being picked up in London this weekend. On the other hand, the team has only failed to score three times on the road.

Will both teams be celebrating at the end? Arsenal and Newcastle are fighting for crucial points in the race for the Champions League, with the Gunners in a much better position – despite a less than successful run in recent weeks.

I don’t see any real difference in performance between these two teams. However, Newcastle United have been more convincing in recent games, and Arsenal are no longer under pressure to win.

Add to that the fact that the Magpies have become a real bogey team for the Londoners, especially this season, and I’m going for the following tip:

Newcastle will score at the Emirates!
