VfL Bochum have already said goodbye to ten players, and number eleven followed on Tuesday: Gerrit Holtmann will leave the relegated Bundesliga club on a free transfer when his contract expires on June 30. “We would have liked to continue with Gerrit. He identified with VfL and the people here. We had good and respectful talks, at the end of which he informed us that he had decided to take on a different challenge,” explained sporting director Dirk Dufner.
