Contrary to previous assumptions, the contract of HSV striker Davie Selke (22 goals in the past second division season) has not been automatically extended following the Hanseatic club’s promotion. A clause to this effect was removed from the 30-year-old striker’s contract in the spring, as first reported by the “Hamburger Abendblatt” on Tuesday. Selke will therefore be without a contract from June 30, but negotiations for a new contract are already underway.
