Bremen – St. Pauli Prediction Bundesliga, Matchday 6 on Saturday, 10/04/2025 at 3:30 p.m.
With my Bremen St. Pauli tip placed at Winamax Germany, I am at odds with the direct comparison.
SV Werder has only lost the first game of 18 Bundesliga matches against FC St. Pauli – a 1-3 away defeat in August 1977 – and has remained unbeaten in the 17 subsequent encounters (12 wins, 5 draws).
But how can I ignore Werder’s current goal drought and rampant injury woes, which are becoming increasingly severe?
However, I’m not putting my entire stake on a draw or away win, but instead prefer to put together a promising combination bet in a comprehensive sports betting app.
Do you think Sandro Wagner from FC Augsburg could soon lose his job? Then get ready for the following figures.
Horst Steffen has only picked up four points in his first five Bundesliga games with Bremen – as few as Wolfgang Weber last achieved in 1978.
However, Steffen has done quite well against St. Pauli so far: he has won two of the three previous encounters in all competitions (two of them with Elversberg, plus one draw).
Bremen – St. Pauli Prediction & Bets
I deliberately checked the Bremen St. Pauli odds in the Betano app early on for a goalless half-time score.
A 0-0 at half-time at around 3.00 is a real betting priority for me on Saturday – together with Werder Bremen not scoring, the odds are slightly higher at around 3.90. I find this offer even more appealing.
That’s because FC St. Pauli has only allowed 45 shots on goal so far this Bundesliga season – fewer than any other team in the league.
What you need to know when betting on Bremen vs. St. Pauli
- After four clean sheet home wins at the end of last season, Werder Bremen have now conceded three goals in each of their two home games this season.
- Seven of Werder Bremen’s last eight Bundesliga games have ended with at least 2.5 goals.
- St. Pauli conceded the first goal in four of their five league games this season.
- St. Pauli have kept a clean sheet in only two of their last 13 Bundesliga games.
Bremen – St. Pauli: AI tip & odds analysis
Our Bremen St. Pauli AI prediction calls a spade a spade and is more accurate in its predictions for this match than I am with my suggested combination bet from the headline.
I really like a 1:1 result bet at 7.10, even if I personally think a 0:0 or 1:0 for the Kiezkickers is a tad more likely.
But on one point I completely agree with my digital betting friend: there should indeed be very few goals scored on Saturday at the Weser!
Which brings us to the second computer-generated suggestion: under 2.5 goals, which would more than double your stake if successful! In my opinion, this is a suggestion with a positive expected return, there’s no doubt about that.
Neither side has a clinical finisher in their ranks, and the last direct duel in April ended in a goalless draw!
Admittedly, with an xG value of 1.24, SVW would have deserved a goal, but Marvin Ducksch, who was so active at the time, is no longer part of the team.
The best odds for Bremen vs. St. Pauli
Bremen welcomes St. Pauli – a classic match in which atmosphere, pace, and fighting spirit are guaranteed.
Winamax and Bet365 stand out with the best odds this time: 2.30 for a home win, 3.65 for a draw, and 2.90 if the Kiezkickers score away. And it is precisely this last 1X2 option that I personally find very interesting.
Bremen can rely on their home strength, even if their offensive play is obviously stagnating. St. Pauli, on the other hand, relies on unpredictable dynamics and quick transitions.
For you sports betting fans, this means a game full of excitement, where cleverly placed bets between the favorites and the underdogs are really fun and offer potential for value bets.
Bremen vs. St. Pauli match analysis:
Marvin Ducksch’s departure to Birmingham has had a long-term negative effect on Bremen’s overall goal threat.
Offensive production is stagnating, and even against St. Pauli on Saturday, not much movement up front is to be expected.
Werder have now gone 189 minutes without scoring in the Bundesliga – the longest current streak in the league.
On the last matchday, Bremen failed to score for the second league game in a row – the last time this happened was in November/December 2023.
In addition, early pressing seems to be an effective tactic against SVW: Bremen has already been put under pressure 66 times this season – the highest number in the league alongside Heidenheim. In addition, there have been 52 high ball losses, resulting in 11 shots.
A team that is put under pressure in this way will find it difficult to make an impact against St. Pauli.
So on Saturday, be prepared for the Kiezkickers to surround the box with four or five players early on when the opposition has possession. The Sportverein doesn’t like that at all!
Bremen form check
Werder Bremen is still in a bit of a crisis when it comes to home games in the Bundesliga.
The team has gone four home games without a win (3 draws, 1 loss) – the last time they had a longer dry spell was between March and August 2023, when Bremen failed to win six consecutive games at home.
In addition, injuries are putting further strain on the team. Maximilian Wöber and Mio Backhaus were already missing from the last game, which visibly reduced the defensive stability.
In attack, Bremen are relying primarily on Romano Schmid, who has already scored two goals this season.
Schmid is also expected to play a key role against St. Pauli if Bremen wants to find its way back to a home win, as he is the only offensive force that can be reasonably relied upon.
St. Pauli form check
St. Pauli may be going through a bit of a dry spell after losing their last two games, but they are still in ninth place going into the new matchday.
After a strong start to the season with two wins and a draw from their first three league games, the Kiezkickers have recently shown weaknesses away from home, such as in their 2-0 defeat in Stuttgart.
Despite this setback, the offense has been efficient so far, scoring eight goals in five Bundesliga games—compared to just 28 goals in the entire previous season, when St. Pauli scored the fewest goals in the league.
A key factor in the team’s attacking success is Danel Sinani. The player has been directly involved in four goals for his club and national team so far (two goals, two assists) and is therefore a constant source of trouble for the opposition.
Coach Alexander Blessin will certainly continue to rely on the creativity and punch of his Luxembourg striker when it comes to ending the dry spell and securing important away points against Werder Bremen on Saturday.
