Belated birthday present: Alessandro Crimaldi signed a professional contract with VfL Bochum just under a month after his 18th birthday. As the second division club announced on Thursday, the offensive player is now under contract until summer 2029. The Italian junior international still plays for Bochum’s U19 team, but he also made his debut in the regional league for the U21 team last weekend. “Alessandro Crimaldi is a great talent and well on his way to professional soccer,” Pablo Thiam, director of VfL’s talent development program, is quoted as saying in a club statement.
