If Gladbach’s interim coach Eugen Polanski continues his clear upward trend next Saturday against 1. FC Köln, sporting director Rouven Schröder is likely to pull the 39-year-old’s head coach contract out of the drawer. However, it is unlikely that Borussia’s head of sports will send a signal before the derby and promote Polanski to a permanent position in the next few days. “It’s clear that we want to make decisions at some point. But we’re not going to be pushed into making a hasty decision,” said Schröder.
