Tom Bischof is off to a flying start in Hoffenheim in the 2024/25 season, and that didn’t go unnoticed for long. FC Bayern immediately seized where Bischof will now play from the 2025/26 season.
Of course, you rightly ask yourself: Who is this youngster anyway?
Where does Tom Bischof come from, where and when did his career begin, what about a possible partner at his side and where is his Hoffenheim salary classified?
Tom Bischof Place of birth, origin & the beginnings in Sinsheim
Admittedly, we don’t really know much about Tom Bischof yet. He was born in Aschaffenburg on 28 June 2005 and finally led to 1899 Hoffenheim at a very early age.
TSG already had the super talent on their radar at the age of seven and were able to bring him into the youth academy. There, Bischof went through all the teams and was soon able to look forward to making his professional debut.
Tom Bischof’s career began on 19 March 2022, coming on as a substitute in the 3-0 defeat against Hertha BSC. A record, because as of December 2024, Bischof is the youngest player Hoffenheim has ever used in the 1st Bundesliga.
He was 16 years and 263 days old at the time. Bischof is the number 1 in TSG’s club history, with only Youssoufa Moukoko and Paul Wanner ahead of him in Bundesliga history.
Profile Tom Bischof: height, number, position

In the following two seasons, however, Bischof was to have a hard time at first. Only four more Bundesliga appearances were added after the club record. It was not until the start of the 2024/25 season that his hour had come.
He missed the first games injured before he really got going. The next milestone came in the 4-3 win against RB Leipzig: Tom Bischof’s career finally got its first goal in the Bundesliga!
A place in the TSG starting eleven is now assured of him. He prefers to play in central or attacking midfield, but his variable ability also allows him to play in the defensive area – for example on the “eight”.

Tom Bischof: Also in demand in the DFB jersey!
Of course, Tom Bischof also wants to become a pillar for the German national team. He has been in action from the U16s to the U20s so far, showing himself to be very dangerous in front of goal with 15 goals from 35 games.
Only the games and goals up to the U19s are taken into account here, because Bischof is still in action for the U20s. In the summer of 2022, the midfielder experienced a very special time.
He was part of the U17 ensemble that impressed at the 2022 European Championship. He was on the pitch in all four games before unfortunately being eliminated in the quarter-finals against France.
In 2024, Tom Bischof then received one of the most important awards of his still young career: He received the Fritz Walter Medal in gold – related to the U19 level.
Will a world career therefore await? Two or three years ago (due to Corona, the seasons were combined at that time), Florian Wirtz caught the medal – and where he stands now should be well known to you.

In June 2025, there was the next DFB highlight in Tom Bischof’s still young career: he was called up by national coach Julian Nagelsmann for the first time for the senior national team in the Final Four of the Nations League.
In the lost semi-final against Portugal (1-2), Bischof did not play. In the third-place match against France (0-2), he was substituted in the 65th minute and thus celebrated his debut for the senior national team.
Tom Bischof: Salary & contract at FC Bayern
Tom Bischof’s contract at Hoffenheim ran until June 2025 – and the youngster has decided not to extend it, but to move to FC Bayern on a free transfer.
Saying goodbye was not easy for him. Bischof said goodbye publicly on Instagram with these words: “TSG has been my home since I was 10 years old. Here I was able to grow, learn, dream – and realise my dream of professional football.”
Bischof’s Bayern contract runs from 2025 to the end of June 2029. How much is Tom Bischof salary at FC Bayern?
For his signature with the German record champions, Bischof is said to have received a high single-digit million sum. This sum does not flow into the Bischof salary.
Tom Bischof’s annual salary at FC Bayern is rumoured to be around 1 million euros. This makes the youngster one of the low-earners in the Bayern squad. The top earners are star striker Harry Kane and playmaker Jamal Musiala with around 25 million euros a year.
However, the bishop’s salary has increased more than sixfold with the Bayern move! In Hoffenheim, he collected around 150,000 euros per year.
Is there a Tom Bischof girlfriend?
Anyone who would like to have information about Tom Bischof’s private life was disappointed for a long time. The youngster was closed on his social media channels.
Since August 2025, this has changed. There he showed for the first time that there is an official Tom Bischof girlfriend!
Bischof is in a relationship with Josefine Scholl, the daughter of ex-Bayern player Mehmet Scholl.
