Kairat – Olympiacos Tip Champions League, Matchday 6 on Tuesday, 09.12.2025 at 16:30 CET
On Matchday 6 of the Champions League, there will be an extremely interesting duel between Kairat Almaty and Olympiacos Piraeus at an unusual time (16:30 CET) on Tuesday. Both teams are dependent on a win in the basement of the table if the dream of the first knockout round is not to burst prematurely.
The fact that Kairat (14 goals conceded) and Olympiakos (13) have not been able to prove themselves defensively in the CL so far contributes to the special starting position. In fact, I expect a completely disjointed game in my Kairat Olympiakos tip, in which the respective defenses cannot hold their own.
The betting classic “Both teams to score” at a far above-average odds of around 1.90 is offered on the famous presentation plate at Oddset.
Of course, I am aware that Almaty (4 goals) and Olympiakos (5 goals) are among the weakest teams offensively in the current CL season. However, the weak defensive lines and the need to go forward in the table should make up for this fact.
The nominal home advantage for Almaty is also practical. After all, I would have expected Olympiakos to win a narrow clean sheet in Greece. In Kazakhstan, however, Piraeus is unlikely to be able to hold itself harmless.
Kairat – Olympiakos Prediction & Betting
Due to the weak offensive performances of both teams so far, there is sufficient value in various goal bets. Accordingly, I bring “Over 2.5 goals” into play as the first tip alternative at odds of about 1.80 at bookmakers without tax. A 2:1 for Olympiakos seems extremely realistic to me.
And while we’re at it, I’ll include this result bet in my recommendations. The 2-1 away win brings the bookmakers to a solid odds of around 8.75.
Since a close, hard-fought exchange of blows can be assumed, the selection “draw at half-time” also makes sense. The odds make it to a strong 2.30. And a 1-1 draw at half-time wouldn’t surprise me at all.
What you need to consider when betting on Kairat vs. Olympiakos
- Kairat Almaty’s domestic season is over, the club won the Kazakh Premier League by two points. Between the fifth and eighth matchdays of the Champions League, the hosts will not play any further competitive games.
- Both teams have scored in Olympiakos’ last three Champions League games, most recently in the 4-3 home defeat against Real Madrid. The Greeks had 18 shots on goal in this game – against the 15-time European Cup winners.
- Arsenal is the only away team on matchday five that is quoted lower than Olympiakos in the 1×2 market. Kairat Almaty, on the other hand, was an outsider in all five Champions League games of the 2025/26 season.
- In the market for goalscorers at any given time, seven Olympiakos players were ranked lower than any player from Kairat Almaty. Ayoub El Kaabi is the only player with odds in the “odds-on” range – which corresponds to a goal probability of around 55 percent.
Kairat – Olympiakos: AI Tip & Odds Analysis
Of course, our AI model in the premier class is not limited to the top duels of the upper half of the table. So you don’t have to do without a Kairat Olympiakos AI prediction.
With the first tip, the digital brain leaves all frills aside and goes for the away win of the Greeks.
The odds of about 2.05 are of course strong, even if you have to keep in mind that Piraeus have not yet scored a three points in this CL preliminary round. Nevertheless, there is of course nothing to argue about the Greek role as favourites for the game against Almaty.
Almaty plays in front of their home crowd and must win at all costs if they want to stay in the race for the playoffs. Accordingly, “Kairat over 0.5 goals” at odds around 1.65 makes perfect sense. Most recently, they even scored in two games in a row against Inter Milan (1-2) and Copenhagen (2-3).
The AI also has a handicap tip up its sleeve for you. “Win Kairat with handicap +2” makes it to odds of about 1.55. Since I can’t imagine a clear victory for Olympiakos at the moment, I think this football bet is also successful.
The best odds for Kairat vs. Olympiakos
In the odds for Kairat against Olympiakos, the guests are listed as clear “odds-on” favorites. The bookmakers imply a 63 percent chance of an away win, while Kairat’s underdog odds suggest a probability of only 16 percent to three points.
Arsenal are the only away team on matchday five to have lower odds than Olympiakos in the 1×2 market.
This is the second time in this Champions League season that Olympiakos starts as clear favourites. In the opener against Pafos on the first matchday, the Greek team went into the game as “Odds-On” home favourites, but could not score a goal (0-0).
An Asian handicap line of -1.0 was set for the guests. This requires a win with at least a two-goal difference to pay out winnings. In the event of a win with only a one-goal difference, the stake in the -1.0 handicap will be fully refunded.
In the market for goalscorers at any time, seven Olympiakos players are ranked lower than any Kairat Almaty player. Ayoub El Kaabi is the only player with odds-on odds on a goal, which corresponds to a 55 percent probability of scoring.
Kairat vs Olympiakos Match Analysis:
A look into the past does not help us. Kairat Almaty and Olympiacos Piraeus meet for the first time ever.
Nevertheless, it can be said that both teams have a certain similarity in the course of this Champions League preliminary round.
Both Kairat and Olympiakos have been conspicuous by their defensive weaknesses up to this point. A classic 0-0 would therefore be a bigger surprise from my point of view.
Since both teams are also still waiting for their first preliminary round victory, neither Kairat nor Piraeus are likely to exercise restraint. If you don’t win here, you can say goodbye to the playoffs.
I therefore expect an offensive start and numerous crosses from the half-field, which should always cause problems for the shaky defensive lines.
Piraeus are generally stronger and should have the majority of possession on their own side. Ultimately, the Greeks should also have the better chances of getting the first three points of the preliminary round.
Kairat Form Check
Of course, Kairat Almaty went into the preliminary round of the Champions League as one of the big outsiders. However, the Kazakhs should not be satisfied with the current penultimate place in the table.
The most recent two games against Inter and Copenhagen have shown that Almaty can compete at a higher level. Both teams lost away with only a one-goal difference. Above all, the 2-1 defeat against Milan must be considered a partial success.
Since the Kazakh league is already over, Almaty currently lacks the rhythm of the game. The most recent two competitive games were those against FCK and Inter.
Statistically, things don’t look too rosy for Kairat. Just two of the last seven games have been won. After all, in the domestic league, the title was defended just ahead of FC Astana.
Olympiakos Form Check
Olympiacos Piraeus had certainly imagined it quite differently. After five completed CL matchdays, the Greeks are definitely one of the bigger disappointments of the competition in view of only two points.
But the truth is also that Piraeus has been served a rock-hard schedule. So they had to play in Barcelona, at FC Arsenal and against Real Madrid. Against the Whites, they even sold themselves surprisingly well in the 3:4.
It is therefore likely that Piraeus will dominate the game against Kairat, especially since the general form is quite impressive. Olympiakos have only suffered one defeat in the last ten games.
In the Greek Super League, they are at the top of the table after 13 completed matchdays and now finally want to win their first three points in the Champions League.
