1. FC Saarbrücken has been welcoming a training guest since this week: Florian Ballas is currently keeping fit “at his own request” with the third division club. The central defender, who most recently played for Jahn Regensburg and has been without a club since the summer of 2025, is no stranger to Saarland: Ballas already played for FCS in the youth and from January to June 2014. The 32-year-old’s CV includes 189 second division and 40 third division games. Jürgen Lüginger currently has four trained central defenders in his squad, but the next few weeks will show whether Ballas will add a fifth.
