Leverkusen – Bremen Prediction Bundesliga, Matchday 19 on Saturday, 24/01/2026 at 15:30 CET
Phew! What a horror start to 2026 for Bayer Leverkusen. After two defeats in the Bundesliga (4-1 against Stuttgart, 1-0 against Hoffenheim), the Werkself also lost 2-0 to Olympiacos in the Champions League during the week.
On matchday 19 of the Bundesliga, Leverkusen will face Werder Bremen. In the fight for a top 4 finish, Bayer simply cannot afford another setback.
In my Leverkusen Bremen tip, however, I assume that the in-form SVW comes at just the right time and acts as a build-up opponent for Bayer. “Win Leverkusen” at odds around 1.60 at NEO.bet is therefore worth the risk to me.
While Leverkusen is fighting for Champions League qualification, Werder Bremen now has completely different problems. After a successful start to the season, the Northern Lights are really out of step and are only five points ahead of the relegation place.
Worryingly, Bremen have not won since November 2025 and have since picked up 3 out of a possible 21 points – statistics of a relegation candidate. And a defeat against a struggling Leverkusen team could finally turn the season into a nail-biter.
Leverkusen – Bremen Prediction & Betting
Yes, Bayer Leverkusen is on the ropes. However, Werder Bremen has long since fallen out of the ring and therefore does not necessarily come off well with my betting alternatives.
Bremen have recently conceded three goals each against Dortmund and Frankfurt. “Bayer over 1.5 goals” at odds around 1.50 suits me very well, even if Leverkusen have recently failed to score a goal of their own twice in a row.
Since both defenses have not been convincing recently, the classic “Both teams score” also catches the eye. It is no coincidence that the bet is valued just above 1.50. In view of the initial situation, I could even imagine that the condition will already be fulfilled in the 1st half.
What you need to know about Leverkusen vs. Bremen betting
- Bayer Leverkusen have reached their lowest point of the season so far after three defeats in a row in the Bundesliga and Champions League. Last weekend they lost 1-0 to Hoffenheim, followed by a 2-0 defeat in Athens against Olympiakos.
- Werder Bremen, despite a five-point lead over the relegation zone, is currently on 18 points, well below the 26 points they recorded at the same time last season.
- The North Germans are winless in seven league games, four of which have been lost. In this period, Bremen conceded an average of 2.29 goals per game and scored only 0.86 goals. In four of the last five games, they have conceded three or more goals.
- Patrick Schick leads the anytime goalscorer quotas as usual, after his six goals in 13 Bundesliga appearances this season. Only Harry Kane surpasses Schick’s xG value of 0.66 per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga this season, with a 0.92 xG/90 average.
Leverkusen – Bremen: AI Tip & Odds Analysis
I have already listed “Win Leverkusen” and “Both teams to score” as single bets. Our Leverkusen Bremen AI prediction is quite clever and summarizes the tips in a combination.
“Win Leverkusen & Both Score” has odds of around 2.70 and is a real value bet. It is simply unrealistic for Bayer to prevail without conceding a goal at the moment.
In the second tip, the AI is particularly creative. “Both teams score in the 2nd half” is classified by the new bookmakers at odds of about 2.60. The statistical basis: In four of the last five games at the BayArena, Bremen have scored at least once in the second half.
“Leverkusen leads at half-time” is the third AI tip. It is actually not unlikely that Bayer will show a defiant reaction after the recent defeats and dominate weak Bremen from the start.
The best odds for Leverkusen vs. Bremen
Bayer Leverkusen are favourites for this upcoming match with an implicit probability of 65%. According to bookmakers, Werder Bremen’s chances of victory are 18%.
In the Asian handicap market, the line is set to 1.0, which means that the home team must win by a one-goal margin to survive.
Werder fans who rely on the away team, on the other hand, can get their stake back in full in the Werder +1.0 Asian handicap if Bremen lose by exactly one goal.
The Asian goal line above/under 3.25 requires at least four goals for “over” tipsters to win. Although this is a high line, it is regularly achievable in a league that averages 3.26 goals per 90 minutes.
If exactly three goals are scored, “Over 3.25” players will receive half of their stake back, while “Under 3.25” players will receive half of their winnings.
A bitter setback for Bremen: Boniface underwent knee surgery just a week ago and is therefore out for the rest of the season. The favourite for the Anytime goalscorer market is once again Patrick Schick, as so often, after his six goals in 13 Bundesliga appearances this season.
Leverkusen vs Bremen Match Analysis:
Bayer Leverkusen are experiencing the most difficult phase of the season so far since coach Erik ten Hag was replaced by Kasper Hjulmand. The Werkself have a crucial game ahead of them to keep their chances of finishing in the top four in the Bundesliga – and that’s sandwiched between two games in the Champions League.
Since Leverkusen will inevitably have to focus on the upcoming European duel against Villarreal, Werder Bremen could benefit from this. The North Germans are in urgent need of points to get out of the relegation zone.
Both teams have been waiting for a win in two league games, with Leverkusen still with a game in hand – the postponed game against Hamburger SV is scheduled for Wednesday, 4 March.
The first leg ended in a spectacular 3-3 draw. It was only the second matchday of the season and also marked the end of Erik ten Hag’s tenure in Leverkusen.
The match promises to be goal-rich, especially since both teams have been defensively vulnerable recently: Bremen have only kept one clean sheet in the last nine games, Leverkusen only once in the last seven games. In this period, the Werkself have conceded twelve goals in all competitions.
Leverkusen form check
Bayer Leverkusen have reached their lowest point of the season so far after three defeats in a row in the Bundesliga and Champions League. Last weekend, the Rhinelanders lost 1-0 at TSG Hoffenheim before a 2-0 defeat in Athens against Olympiakos on Tuesday.
With the decisive Champions League match against Villarreal next Wednesday and a four-point deficit to fourth-placed Stuttgart – with one game less – Leverkusen coach Kasper Hjulmand is facing a tricky situation.
The 4-1 defeat against Stuttgart on matchday 16 and the defeat in Hoffenheim have meant that Leverkusen are no longer in a Champions League place for the first time since mid-October – a position the club held for weeks.
Despite having more possession in dangerous zones, Leverkusen were unable to break down Olympiakos’ compact defence on Tuesday – a pattern that was already evident in the most recent Bundesliga game against Hoffenheim.
It is also worrying that Leverkusen failed to score in two competitive games in a row for the first time this year.
In addition, there are personnel setbacks: Goalkeeper Mark Flekken and attacker Nathan Tella had to be substituted injured in the second half in Hoffenheim and will not be available against Werder Bremen.
Bremen Form Check
Werder Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt drew last weekend in a thrilling game at the Weserstadion. An equaliser by Ansgar Knauff in injury time prevented a Bremen victory after the hosts had turned a deficit into a 3-2 lead.
Due to this result, Bremen remains involved in the relegation battle. Although the lead over third-bottom Heidenheim is five points, Werder is now winless in seven Bundesliga games – currently the longest negative streak of all Bundesliga clubs.
From Bremen’s point of view, the end of a long goal drought was encouraging: After three games without a goal of their own, they scored again. In addition, it was only the second time this season that Bremen scored more than two goals in a Bundesliga game.
By comparison, Werder managed to do so six times last season. Despite the five-point cushion on the relegation zone, the current haul of 18 points is well below the 26 points at the same time last season. In addition, there is a catch-up game against Hoffenheim next Tuesday.
Bremen’s fixture list will present them with major challenges over the next four and a half weeks: Leverkusen, Hoffenheim, Freiburg and Bayern are all challenging opponents.
The away record is particularly problematic. Only one win away from home has been recorded so far, on 14 September at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Overall, Werder have picked up just six points from their first nine away games, the lowest since the 2014/15 season, when they picked up just five points.
