Now it’s official: Sven Köhler is leaving Eintracht Braunschweig and moving to Switzerland with immediate effect, where he will join Grasshopper Club Zurich. The parties involved agreed not to disclose the exact details of the deal. Köhler joined the Lower Saxony Lions from Denmark in the summer of 2024, and before this season the then new coach Heiner Backhaus appointed him captain. The 29-year-old can look back on 17 competitive games for BTSV this season, but his transfer request deposited at the end of January caused great upset around the club and now followed the separation.
