Atletico – Bruges Tip, AI Prediction & Odds 24.02.2026

Atletico – Bruges Tip Champions League, playoffs, second leg on Tuesday, 24/02/2026 at 18:45 CET

Ahead of the second leg of the Champions League play-offs between Atletico Madrid and Club Brugge, everything is open. With the 3-3 draw from the first leg behind them, the Spaniards now go into the game in front of their home crowd as clear favourites.

Nevertheless, it must be mentioned that the Madrilenians have recently been on unusual paths. After all, the fact that Atletico has to concede a total of eight goals in three games does not happen too often.

I take advantage of the newly discovered preference for high-scoring clashes and set my sights on the bet “Both teams to score” at a solid odd of around 1.65 at Merkur Bets in my Atletico Brugge tip. So I don’t believe in a clean sheet victory for the favourites.

In general, Atletico should not take Club Brugge lightly despite the home advantage. The Belgians have lost only one of their last eight games and can travel to Spain with confidence.

Nevertheless, it remains to be said that Bruges has been able to shine in the course of this Champions League season, especially at home. In Belgium, for example, they managed a 3-3 draw against FC Barcelona in the preliminary round, while in London there was nothing to be gained at Arsenal FC (0-3).

Atletico – Bruges Prediction & Betting Tips

I’m quite conservative with my main tip. If you want to go one better, you could go straight for the combination “Win Atletico & Both Teams Score”. For this, the odds increase significantly to approx. 2.50.

Another tip alternative is the bet “Atletico leads at half-time”. For example, a 2-1 at half-time would not surprise me at all in view of the previous history. The German bookmakers call for odds of around 1.80 for the Spaniards to take the lead at half-time.

As a result bet, I also bring the “3-1 for Atletico” into play. The rate climbs to a lucrative 11.0. If you don’t want to take the risk, you can of course fall back on a freebet.

What you need to know about Atletico vs. Brugge betting

  • Atletico Madrid have lost just two of their 17 home games in the Champions League since the start of the 2022/23 season, winning 13 of them. During this time, they scored an average of 2.29 goals per game, 1.23 more than they conceded.
  • Club Brugge’s only away win in the group stage of the Champions League comes from the game against Kairat Almaty, the bottom of the table. All three other away games in which they were considered outsiders – as in this match – were lost, with a total of nine goals conceded.
  • In the first leg, both Atletico and Bruges scored exactly 2.33 xG, for a total of 4.66 xG. There were eight big chances – evenly distributed 4-4 – as well as 30 shots on goal. The bets on “Both teams to score – yes” and “Over 2.5 goals” would have won after just 51 minutes.
  • Ademola Lookman scored his third goal for the club in the first leg in Belgium after Julián Alvarez had given Atletico the lead with a penalty. The former Atalanta striker has scored more goals for Atletico in just three weeks than in the current Serie A season as a whole (2).

Atletico – Bruges: AI Tip & Odds Analysis

Our AI model looked quite puzzled after the first leg between Atletico and Brugge. The digital brain did not have six goals on the bill either. Let’s see what the Atletico Brugge AI prediction for the second leg looks like.

With the first tip, the AI plays it safe. “Victory Atletico” is of course not spectacular at odds around 1.40. In the end, however, the Spaniards should most likely prevail.

As I said, the first leg left a lasting impression. The fact that the model recommends the combination “Over 2.5 goals & both teams score” is therefore definitely worth a smile. The odds are around 1.90 and thus in a profitable range.

The bet “Atletico to win both halves” is also interesting. The AI believes just like me in a dominant performance by the Spaniards. And the odds for the bet are really more than decent (2.85).

The best odds for Atletico vs. Bruges

The odds for the second leg between Atletico Madrid and Club Brugge are clearly in favour of the hosts after the 3-3 draw in the first leg in Belgium. Atlético’s 1X2 price implies a 73% chance of winning at home, while Bruges are only allowed 14% to cause a surprise in Spain.

The Asian Handicap line is at Atlético −1.5. For supporters of the favourites, a victory with at least a two-goal lead is therefore necessary to win fully. In the event of Atletico’s success with exactly one goal difference, a draw or an away win, on the other hand, the Club Brugge side (+1.5) of the Asian handicap market will apply.

The Asian goal line is set at over/under 3.25 goals. A full win on “Over 3.25” requires a minimum of four hits.

If exactly three goals are scored, over-tipsters lose half of their stake, while the other half is refunded; with two or fewer hits, sub-followers win completely. In view of the six goals in the first leg – both teams scored three times each – this line should be particularly attractive for some bettors.

Ademola Lookman scored his third goal for Atletico in the first leg in Belgium after Julián Álvarez had given Atlético the lead from the penalty spot. The former Atalanta striker has scored more goals for Atlético in just three weeks than in the current Serie A season as a whole (2).

In the market for the Anytime goalscorer, Lookman is the third favorite – behind his teammates Alexander Sörloth and Julian Alvarez.

Atletico vs Brugge Match Analysis:

Atletico Madrid go into this match as clear favourites, but all the pressure is on Diego Simeone’s side, who are expected to reach the late stages of the Champions League. Club Brugge will try to build up additional pressure with an aggressive approach.

Atletico have often been praised for their defensive stability under Simeone, but this has not been shown in the Champions League so far this season. With 18 goals conceded in 9 games, there are definitely opportunities for Club Brugge.

Bruges had more possession in the first leg, but Atletico’s early lead after just eight minutes was a decisive factor. In the second leg, Simeone’s team should be looking to control the game, have a lot of possession and create numerous chances.

Although Club Brugge have put in several strong performances this Champions League season, the most convincing results have come in front of their own fans. Away from home, the Belgians suffered clear defeats at Sporting CP and Bayern Munich.

The trip to Madrid could take a similar course – especially if Bruges fall behind early again as in both away games.

Atlético can also count on the support of the fans and great experience in the decisive phases of this competition. Accordingly, a success of Club Brugge would be considered a huge surprise.

Atletico Form Check

In the first leg in Belgium, an own goal by Joel Ordoñez seemed to play into Atletico Madrid’s hands, but a late goal from Christos Tzolis ensured that the Spanish club go into the second leg in Madrid without much of an advantage.

Atletico looked clearly dominant at half-time with a 2-0 lead and should regret the missed chances, because victory was within reach. After all, the result in Belgium ended a series of four away defeats in knockout games for Atletico, who now have to take the last step in front of their own crowd.

Atlético’s last home defeat was a 2-1 defeat against Bodö/Glimt in the league phase. Basically, however, the Madrilenians are strong at home in the Champions League: 12 wins from the last 14 home games. The only defeats were against Bodø/Glimt and in the previous season in the 3-1 against Lille.

Offensively, Atlético is one of the stronger teams in the competition. With 20 goals and 16.93 expected goals (xG), they rank eighth, averaging 6.11 shots on target per game – only seven teams have had more shots than Diego Simeone’s team.

Julian Alvarez is in outstanding form. His goal against Club Brugge made him the fastest Argentine player to reach 20 Champions League goals after 35 games, ahead of Sergio Aguero (37) and Lionel Messi (40).

Bruges Form Check

The 3-3 draw in the first leg, made possible by Christos Tzolis’ late goal and Club Brugge’s great resilience, gives the Belgians hope to build on this result in the second leg in Madrid and qualify for the Champions League round of 16 for the second time in a row.

The draw in the first leg underlines the level Club Brugge have reached in recent years, scoring three or more goals in six of their seven UEFA home games this season.

Club Brugge are unbeaten in six UEFA matches against Spanish teams (W2 D4) and will be aiming for another remarkable performance at the Estadio Metropolitano.

However, Club Brugge have won only one away game so far this season, a 4-1 win at Kairat, and lost the remaining three games in the league phase.

Nevertheless, the Belgians celebrated away victories against Red Bull Salzburg and Rangers in the qualifying rounds and also won 3-1 at Atalanta in Bergamo last season.
