Dortmund – Leverkusen Tip Bundesliga, Matchday 29 on Saturday, 11/04/2026 at 15:30 CET
Is there a more exciting match on this matchday than this? Can we congratulate the German record champions on their next championship trophy after the end of the game? After all, BVB have to pick up three points to stay in the chase lane!
With my Dortmund Leverkusen tip, I am indirectly betting on the expected high entertainment value of this game. My choice is over 2.5 goals & both teams score.
I draw courage for my decision from my data analysis. Because in the 6-3 win over VfL last week, the Werskelf showed their enormous offensive potential, which they often call up on the pitch in games against BVB!
For the hosts from Dortmund, the championship race, which has already been decided, is increasingly coming to an end. The Westphalians are in second place and would have to win every remaining game to maintain the minimal chance of winning the championship title against Bayern. The deficit is nine points – plus a significantly worse goal difference in comparison.
Leverkusen, meanwhile, are fighting doggedly to qualify for European business. Currently in sixth place, the Champions League ranks are four points away. The factory players can therefore hardly afford a defeat.
Consequently, I believe that according to my Dortmund Leverkusen prediction, we will experience an open exchange of blows.
Dortmund – Leverkusen Prediction & Betting
Signal Iduna Park are preparing for an exchange of blows that could be a crucial test for the Werkself.
Since Borussia look almost invincible in front of their home crowd in the current season and only had to concede all three points to Bayern, the bet on a home win at odds of 1.98 is well-founded.
While BVB are a force at home, Leverkusen have recently repeatedly revealed cracks in the gears away from home – only six wins from 14 away games underpin Dortmund’s role as favourites, especially since the Black and Yellows have historically had the upper hand in four of the last seven direct duels.
Offensively, meanwhile, a goal guarantee is almost priced in: With an average of over two goals per home game, Dortmund is the next statistically rock-solid decision over 1.5 goals at 1.67.
What you need to know about Dortmund vs. Leverkusen betting
- Dortmund’s almost flawless record: BVB are having an outstanding season and have only suffered two defeats in 28 league games – both against current league leaders FC Bayern Munich.
- Signal Iduna Park Fortress: Home strength is coach Niko Kovač’s trump card; Dortmund have won eleven of their previous 14 games at home and have lost only once at home.
- Leverkusen as draw king: The Werkself are unbeaten in six competitive games and have picked up ten points, but four of those matches have ended in a draw.
- Duel of the top strikers: Patrik Schick is highly efficient; with 0.23 expected goals (xG) per shot, he is level with Bayern’s Harry Kane at the top of the league and most recently scored in the furious 6-3 win against Wolfsburg.
Dortmund – Leverkusen: AI Tip & Odds Analysis
The Dortmund Leverkusen AI forecast for this Bundesliga top match, which was specially provided by our IT department, sees BVB ahead with a probability of victory of 49.5%. The Werkself are valued at 27.6%, while a draw is 22.9%!
This data situation results in the option of BVB to win with a handicap of -1 at attractive odds of 3.10. While the AI supports this clear advantage, the simple win bet without a handicap at odds of 1.95 provides a much more stable risk-reward ratio for one’s own betting slip.
Dortmund’s impressive home record of eleven wins this season is a solid argument, but the whole thing is clouded by Adeyemi’s yellow suspension. Consequently, I wouldn’t put my hand in the fire for it to be 3-1 or 4-1 in the end.
With a theoretically calculated figure of 1.77 goals for Borussia and 1.28 for the Werkself, our data analysis underlines the enormous attacking power of both teams, who have already scored 118 goals this season.
Based on these facts, the Asian Handicap of 3.0 goals at odds of 1.90 and the option of 1.5 goals per half at odds of 3.15 are available.
I rate these scenarios as equally profitable, as Dortmund’s home record of an average of 2.6 goals per game correlates perfectly with Leverkusen’s attacking orientation. In addition, the said handicap bet includes a nice hedge in the event of exactly three goals!
The best odds for Dortmund vs. Leverkusen
The Dortmund Leverkusen odds of the leading betting providers with a German license set a clear signal in favor of the Black and Yellows with a 1.98.
I see a logical reaction of the analysts to the brute home strength here: Dortmund has already scored 35 points in front of their own crowd this season.
The experts weigh the current consistency of Borussia, who have established themselves as the first Bayern chasers with a nine-point lead over Leipzig, significantly higher than the glamour factor of the Werkself. For the odds layers, BVB is currently the most stable force behind the record champions.
Bayer 04 are rated 3.45, while the draw is close to 3.90. The fact that Leverkusen is considered a clear outsider despite the recent spectacle against Wolfsburg is due to the lack of balance.
The experts see the defensive vulnerability – such as the 3-3 draw against bottom-of-the-table Heidenheim – as a big risk against Dortmund’s concentrated offensive power.
Since the Werkself now have to put everything on the Bundesliga card after being knocked out of the Champions League round of 16 against Arsenal in order to save the Champions League for next year, the analysts expect an open visor, but B04 has the statistically worse cards.
Dortmund vs Leverkusen Match Analysis:
With Bayern Munich enthroned at the top of the table with a nine-point lead, Dortmund knows that every slip-up means the end of the already practically futile title dreams.
Leverkusen, on the other hand, are fighting to re-enter the top four in order to qualify for the Champions League. The Werkself are under pressure and have to pick up points to keep up with Leipzig and Stuttgart.
BVB go into this game with a winning streak of four games. Borussia have a fortress at home and have the best home defence in the league with only 13 goals conceded. A victory would almost guarantee Champions League participation.
The guests arrive with a broad chest after the spectacular 6-3 win against Wolfsburg. Even though three of the last five games have ended in draws, the attacking machinery is currently running at full speed and is good for goals at any time.
Historically, Leverkusen are in Dortmund anyway, as Bayer have scored at least once in five of their last six away games. Incidentally, this accuracy only further underpins my personal prediction that both teams will find their way into the net.
Nevertheless, an away win at BVB remains one of the most difficult tasks in the Bundesliga, especially since Dortmund has to keep up with Bayern.
Since both teams are under a lot of pressure to succeed, I expect a close and extremely competitive game. In the end, the form on the day will probably be the deciding factor in this intense game.
Dortmund Form Check
Borussia Dortmund is in a strange phase. The latest results are better than the underlying performances. The 2-0 win in Stuttgart was fortunate because VfB dominated the game and had a higher xG value.
Despite few scoring chances, BVB were ice-cold and struck in injury time. This testifies to great mental strength and resilience. The team meets expectations and confidently secures second place.
A supporting pillar is goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. Against Stuttgart, he showed a world-class performance and prevented several big chances. According to xGA data, Dortmund should have conceded significantly more goals this season.
Last weekend’s victory has created an important cushion over third-placed VfB Stuttgart. Qualification for next season’s Champions League is thus as good as certain, the gap to the rear is large.
In attack, Fabio Silva has proven to be an important counter-attacker. His assist for Brandt’s goal shows that the team is becoming more and more dangerous in transition moments. It’s a weapon that will also be used against Leverkusen.
While BVB are traditionally dominant at home, their away form is characterised by pragmatism. They often allow more chances, but compensate for this with a high level of efficiency in front of the opponent’s goal.
Leverkusen form check
Leverkusen, currently in 6th place in the table, is experiencing a season full of unpredictability. While the attack is one of the best in the league with 58 goals, the lack of consistency since the beginning of the year has put the Champions League qualification in danger.
The Werkself are a resilient team and unbeaten in five league games. The recent 6-3 win against Wolfsburg was emblematic of their season: despite being 3-1 down, they fought back and secured three important points.
The heart of the team remains Alejandro Grimaldo. His brace against Wolfsburg boosted his tally to eight goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga. He is the most important impulse generator on the left side.
Despite scoring an impressive 2.07 goals per game, they have already conceded 39 goals. This lack of defensive stability is a big problem before the trip to Dortmund, as they cannot afford to lose.
By the way: The last victory against a top four opponent dates back to December. Since January, defeats against Stuttgart, Hoffenheim and Union Berlin have significantly weakened Leverkusen’s position in the fight for the Champions League.
With Champions League qualification on a knife’s edge, the DFB Cup offers an alternative route to Europe. However, they still have to overcome the hurdle of Bayern Munich in the semi-finals later this month.
