Vladimir Weiss has taken over the post of Slovakian national coach for the second time. The 61-year-old, who held the job from 2008 to 2012, was introduced by the Slovakian federation on Tuesday. Weiss succeeds Italy’s Francesco Calzona, who resigned last month after four years in office. Slovakia, Germany’s opponent in the World Cup qualifiers, had recently failed in the play-offs for participation in the upcoming finals in the USA, Mexico and Canada against Kosovo. Weiss is leaving Slovan Bratislava with immediate effect. He had always won the championship with the club in the past five years.
