From the Ruhr area to the Atlantic: Samuel Bamba has left VfL Bochum and will play in the Portuguese top flight for Madeira club Maritimo Funchal. The 22-year-old, who most recently played on loan for Willem II Tillburg in the Dutch second division and celebrated promotion to the Eredivisie there, is moving permanently to the holiday island.
