On Wednesday, FC Basel parted ways with coach Stephan Lichtsteiner. His successor could be Sandro Wagner, who is in the focus of the Swiss according to kicker information. The 38-year-old was last on the sidelines at FC Augsburg until the beginning of December 2025. Wagner previously worked as assistant coach of the German national team under Julian Nagelsmann.
