Former Bundesliga professional Jannik Vestergaard has declared his footballing career over. “I’m starting to feel a certain exhaustion. My motivation is not only waning, but is actually no longer there. It feels right to stop now,” the central defender told the Danish newspaper Politiken. Vestergaard made 185 appearances in the Bundesliga for Hoffenheim, Bremen and Gladbach (14 goals). Most recently, the 59-time Danish international played for Leicester City, where his contract expired in the summer after five years.
