Series A Brazil, Matchday 19, Thursday, 12.09.2024 at 00:00
The best Brazilian teams still have a few weeks to go before the final score is decided. There are a few catch-up games coming up in Serie A these days, so I’m now looking towards Porto Alegre.
One club is stuck in mid-table, while their opponents are currently second. Reason enough to tell you in my Internacional Fortaleza betting tip why I’m backing the home side and why I’m using the double chance bet 1X at under 3.5 goals
Is this the game that takes the team to the top of the table? Fortaleza are currently two points behind Botafogo, but the catch-up game, which will be played on Thursday, could equalize that.
And this despite the fact that the team is not really one of the best in attack. 30 goals from 24 games? That’s not many! Eight times there was more than one goal, three exactly three times
It’s also not as if Fortaleza are rushing from victory to victory and always winning by a clear margin. Or let’s put it this way: there has been a very consistent run of late, which the leaders from Botafogo have now broken again.
Nine wins from ten games is something to be proud of. However, the fans almost always had to worry about the three points. Four times 1:0 in the aforementioned period, three times 2:1 – the supporters have to deal with such close results
Since Fortaleza have to travel on Thursday night, it is also worth taking a look at their record away from home. The team has lost four times so far, and all of those defeats were away from home!
I count four wins, and all by a 2:1. No question, I have to look at Winamax to see what exactly this result against Internacional would bring. The odds jump to a 14.0, definitely very profitable.
In addition, they have only managed to win away from home once, and that was back in May. That brings the BTS bet to the fore. Definitely something for risk lovers this time, as it averages 2.05.
All four defeats, also interesting, were conceded without scoring. So if Internacional win, you could also add a zero here, this bet has odds of 2.80 in the Oddset app
Of course, I also have to take a look at the history. The results have alternated for years, and Fortaleza have been unbeaten for three of them. Nevertheless, the bookmakers are of the opinion that the hosts are ahead in the current duel.
The odds show an average of 2.00 to 3.70, which is quite a difference given that the visitors are second in the table. But how are Internacional’s performances to be rated?
In Porto Alegre, they are not really satisfied with their season so far and are stuck in mid-table in tenth place. Eight wins from 22 rounds? That’s obviously not enough to be among the frontrunners.
Curious: they have only lost six times, which is also on Fortaleza’s credit side. The eight draws have cost a few points, and 22 goals is also relatively low
It was only a few days ago that they finally scored three goals of their own for the first time. One narrow defeat from the last eight matches, which is quite a pleasing fact.
Well, since they’ve also shared the points four times in this period, I haven’t noticed any winning streaks either
The team has won eight times in total, but the most recent 3-1 win against Juventude was actually the first result by more than one goal.
So all the results are close, and there is tension right up to the final whistle. Perhaps it will finally be possible to record three home wins in a row? Two would already be there, one against Fortaleza would fit perfectly into the series
Fortaleza still have a good chance of winning the championship and could even go top of the competition on Thursday. Despite the recent defeat, things are going very well at the moment, but I could still see weaknesses in the defense.
Internacional, on the other hand, are not doing quite as well, although the team always achieves very close results and it can therefore be the case that one goal decides the game on matchday after matchday.
Since I’m not convinced enough by Fortaleza away from home, I’ve opted for the double chance 1X. And due to the fact that both clubs rarely score goals, my overall tip is:
Internacional to score under 3.5 goals
