The 336th Vienna derby between Rapid and Austria is about a place in the champions’ group of the top 6 and, consequently, an international starting place for the next season.
Currently, the two Viennese clubs are ranked 2nd (Rapid) and 6th (Austria) and are separated by three points.
Recently, the duels between the two city rivals were very even. This time, the betting providers we tested see slight advantages for the home team in the Rapid Austria Vienna betting tip.
Rapid AND support Austria? Never! These days, football fans in Vienna have to take a clear stand again on who their hearts belong to. They are still close together in the table, but of course the other is not granted a single point.

The most recent success in particular surprised many. What is definitely interesting is that Rapid were always able to score before half-time.

After eight consecutive home games without a win, Rapid finally got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory in February this year. Incidentally, that was also their first win since September 2019.
So Rapid have some catching up to do, but they can take heart from the fact that the bookmakers favor them with odds of 1.95 to 3.40. Strong at home and weak away? That’s exactly what applies to their opponents!
Since Austria Vienna has played more away than at home, their return is also weaker. While Wolfsberg (3:1) and LASK (2:1) were defeated at home, the three away games only yielded two points.
0:1 at Blau-Weiß Linz (they didn’t like Rapid either), 1:1 in Hartberg and 1:1 against Altach? There was exactly one goal conceded in every match! I know I suggested the Over 3.5 bet for Rapid earlier.
But of course we could also say that the home side will follow the Austria series and score exactly once. At Oddset, this would lead to odds of 2.50, but here the risk would logically be much lower.
Incidentally, Austria were not really strong away from home last season either: six of the eleven games were lost, only four were won. The eleven goals were not particularly praiseworthy either.
Not only in Vienna are people looking forward to the Allianz Stadium when Rapid and Austria face each other again. I was able to collect some interesting facts in my analysis. The common thread: both like home games but not away games.
