Tennis Tips today – matches today 10/16
There are still a few weeks to go in this 2024 tennis season, and the last titles are hotly contested. In our tennis tips today, I don’t have a big Masters to analyze these days, but I do have two all the more interesting “smaller” tournaments.
Among other places, the action is in Stockholm and Antwerp. German players, top stars, the field reads very exciting. And so, for example, Daniel Altmaier wants to make sure that 2024 will be a year he remembers fondly.
While he, like Felix Auger-Aliassime, who is one of the top favorites there, is playing in Belgium, we will see the strong Italians in Stockholm, Sweden. Can Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Sonego cause a sensation?

For Daniel Altmaier, the last few weeks and months have been quite mixed, and the 26-year-old would have liked to have seen a little more consistency. Now the tournament in Antwerp should be a success, provided he first wins against Gilles Arnaud Bailly.
On another court, Felix Auger-Aliassime is entering the arena, who many expect to reach the final. First of all, he has to overcome Marton Fucsovics, and this opponent really has enough experience.
In beautiful Stockholm, there are quite a few people who think that Casper Ruud could come out on top in the end. The clay court specialist is not in his best phase, but on Wednesday he will have to fend off the attack of Lorenzo Sonego.
His compatriot Matteo Berrettini also has one eye on the final. If he really wants to get that far, he first has to beat Dominik Stricker.

Daniel Altmaier has had a few exhausting and unsuccessful weeks. Besides reaching the final at the Challenger in Seville, there wasn’t much else to smile about. The 26-year-old has often come unstuck in the first round recently, and this was again the case in Lisbon against Tomas Barrios Vera.
How does he want to prevail against Gilles Arnaud Bailly? The local hero has survived the qualifier against Nikolos Basiliashvilli and Pierre-Hugues Herbert, both in a tiebreak. The 19-year-old has actually only been active on the ITF stage recently, which makes it difficult to assess. Against Altmaier, he is lagging behind with odds of 2.50 to 1.50.

Tennis Tips today 16.10.: Wawrinka – Nakashima (14:00)
“Stan the Man” has to play Nakashima in the first round of Stockholm, for the third time in his career. He has won the first two matches against the American, in Basel in 2022 and in Cincinnati in August 2023. Both times it went to a third set. Although Wawrinka was knocked out early in Shanghai, he also impressed against Cobolli after his victory against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
Due to a fatal mistake by the chair umpire, it was only in the third set that there was an early break. Instead of 15:15, a 0:30 was called, and none of the players noticed it until the end of the game. Nakashima leaves with three defeats in his last four matches, but is still the clear favorite based on the odds.

After his 6-4, 6-3 opening win against Luca Darderi, Matteo Berrettini is looking to secure further victories in Stockholm. It would be the first time since Kitzbühel that he could win twice in a row. Is Dominic Stricker the right opponent for this?
The Swiss player certainly left some grains of sand in the 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 defeat of Aleksandar Kovacevic, and the same applies to him: he has been waiting for two months to win two matches in a row. The odds? They clearly favor Berrettini, at 1.15 to 5.10.

Tennis Betting Today 16.10.: Lorenzo Sonego – Casper Ruud (18:00 CET)
Casper Ruud’s current form? At best, mediocre! The Norwegian was knocked out by Aleksandar Vukic in Shanghai at the very start, and hasn’t won a match since the US Open (knocked out in the round of 16). It gets even worse:
Since Wimbledon, he has ONLY won matches in New York! Nevertheless, he is favored in Stockholm against Lorenzo Sonego with odds of 1.45 to 2.75. Perhaps because all four direct duels went to him? The Italian got off to a rough start in the tournament with a narrow 7-6, 7-5 win over Marc-Andrea Hüsler, but was able to win a game for the first time since Winston Salem.

Tennis Betting today 16.10.: Felix Auger-Aliassime – Marton Fucsovics (20:00)
Felix Auger-Aliassime is the third seed in Antwerp. The Canadian was knocked out in the first round in Shanghai and has not won a match in the last two months. Nevertheless, he is favored against Marton Fucsovics.
The odds are not only at Happybet at 1.40 to approx. 3.00. The Hungarian started in Antwerp with a clear 6-2, 6-0 against Raphael Collignon, it was his first appearance after being injured in the first round of the US Open.
