What had been increasingly rumored since Monday afternoon is now official: Carlo Ancelotti (65) has signed a contract to become Brazil’s national coach. The Italian will make his debut at the beginning of June when Brazil faces a challenging World Cup qualifier. It has long been an open secret that Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid after the final La Liga match on May 25 and be replaced by Xabi Alonso. Now he will become the first foreign coach of the Selecao.
