Champions League, Wednesday, 01/22/2025 at 9:00 p.m.
Liverpool FC are through, but behind them, a number of teams are in a close race for direct progression!
The Gunners are among the favorites and will play against a rival from Croatia on Wednesday.
In my Arsenal Dinamo Zagreb betting tip, I have taken a closer look at both teams and come to the following conclusion: the favorites will grab a win here without conceding a goal.
It would be only too fitting if the Londoners could notch up another home win including a clean sheet, because defensively they are really well set up. With the guests from Croatia, on the other hand, it is extremely difficult to make a prediction; currently, they are rather on the descending branch on the road.
We certainly don’t need to talk about individual quality here, it is definitely greater on the side of the hosts. The additional motivation: Arsenal could even manage to qualify for the knockout round one matchday before the end of the group phase.
But there is also another factor that could provide motivation: the top team from the Premier League might act a little too carelessly. You should never underestimate Zagreb, especially since the play-offs are still in the picture!
The bookmakers’ prediction
Arsenal have won all three home games this international season, so it’s only logical that our bookmakers are backing the Gunners again. The lead is clear, with odds of just 1.12.
The odds for the guests look quite different. If you want to be brave enough to bet on Dinamo Zagreb getting the three points, you can look forward to odds between 19.0 and 25.0! Even a handicap of +2 is still scratching at 3.00.
So it’s already clear: a draw is not really to be expected. One point would be far too little for Arsenal, should this upset really happen, the odds would jump to an 8.00 average.
KI-Prognose Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb: That’s what ChatGPT tips
How does ChatGPT help you in this game? The AI definitely provides you with a few interesting betting suggestions again, which you can use. But are they realistic enough?
The tip in the high-risk area refers to the bet “Havertz scores first”. The German international only scored the 1-0 against PSG, so I think this bet is quite risky. If you leave it at one goal, no matter when, the odds are still good at 2.25.
How about betting on the 3.5 goals being scored? The AI suggests this assumption in the middle corridor (odds 2.00). In fact, I’m rather skeptical about this. I don’t expect Arsenal to concede any goals, because in the CL and Premier League combined, they have only scored more than three goals four times, so I’m more likely to go with Under 3.5.
The “both teams score” is basically a more than popular option, but this time the AI is betting on the opposite. My opinion on this: full approval, anything else wouldn’t go with my clean sheet.
Analysis: Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb
Six teams have 13 points, five have 12 – and that’s not even the end of it, with plenty still in the running for a top-eight finish! The Champions League is looking pretty tight, but the group stage XXL gives everyone a fair chance.
From Arsenal’s point of view, everything is going according to plan. The Gunners are in third place going into the penultimate matchday, which would be enough to qualify directly for the knockout phase without the hassle of playoffs.
If they hadn’t lost 1-0 to Inter Milan, they might have already qualified. The second small “slip-up” was the 0-0 draw against Atalanta Bergamo, so Italian opponents don’t seem to be such a good fit.
All the more impressive were the results of the other matches. 2-0 against PSG, 1-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk, 5-1 against Sporting Lisbon and 3-0 against AS Monaco: a place in the last eight would definitely be deserved!
Odds Analysis
Arsenal have already led at half-time in four of their six matches, so it’s no wonder that this particular bet is also one of my favorites. If the Gunners get off to a good start, the odds reach 1.40 – is that really as low as it gets? In fact, we have to resort to a HC here.
If it is a lead of more than one goal, the odds at Bet365 are 2.70. Bet365? This is your top address in January when it comes to sports betting bonus options! With the code “VIPANGEBOT” you can save a lot, up to 100 euros in the form of betting credits are possible.
Since seven of the 11 goals were scored before half-time, this bet could be a good choice. But you are also welcome to place the bet “More goals in half-time one”, the odds for this reach 2.90.
If I had to choose one result, I would go for a 3-0. This result implies all the betting options mentioned, and Arsenal’s last home game against Zagreb ended exactly the same. At Betano, this result bet would come in at odds of 6.4.
Arsenal vs. Dinamo Zagreb: When will the game be decided?
The team has impressed me defensively, conceding just two goals. Both came from set pieces, so nothing has gone in the Gunners’ goal from open play yet.
1-0, 2-0, 3-0? The three home games so far have given fans plenty to cheer. What’s more, it’s always an advantage when the Emirates calls. No one has won any home CL games since last season started, and the number of goals scored in that period is 21.
This also fits with the fact that Arsenal are still unbeaten at home in the Premier League. In 2015, also in the group stage of the Champions League, they last faced Dinamo Zagreb, winning at home 3-0.
Zagreb has left the good line
However, there is no meaningful direct comparison, because in total there were only four direct duels. Dinamo Zagreb, of course, knows that no Croatian club has ever managed to win on the island in an international competition!
The Croatians will never forget their opening game in this CL season, because they were crushed 2-9 by FC Bayern. 2-2 against Monaco, 2-0 against RB Salzburg and 4-1 against Slovan Bratislava? The reaction was awesome!
So richtig zu erklären ist es daher nicht, why it was a 0:3 against Borussia Dortmund a little later and also in the 0:0 against Celtic Glasgow simply no goal danger wanted to arise.
First at least two goals per game, then twice in a row none, you can’t like that trend. Would an away game perhaps even help, given that the goalless games have been at home?
This can only be seen as a limited encouragement, because with Salzburg and Bratislava, the opponents were much easier than Arsenal is now. The Croats took 16 shots in their last two matches, but they just couldn’t get the ball into the net.
In fact, they have not won in three games in the domestic league. Since the opponents here are much easier to play against than the Gunners, this is anything but a good sign.
My Arsenal Dinamo Zagreb Tip:
Will Arsenal push forward and maybe even secure an early spot in the knockout round? I definitely think the Gunners are capable of it! They are playing a really strong first half of the season, have only conceded two goals and won all their home games to nil.
Dinamo Zagreb had a very good phase during the group stage, but now the team is back on the decline. In the last two matches against Dortmund and Celtic, they didn’t even score.
All in all, I therefore expect the favorites to prevail on Thursday. Clearly? I don’t want to go quite so far out on a limb as that, but since I’m very impressed by the defense, my tip is:
Arsenal beat Zagreb to nil!
