FC Erzgebirge Aue is pushing ahead with its squad planning for the coming season. On Friday, the Saxony-based club announced that it had extended the contract of striker Maximilian Schmid. The 22-year-old only moved to Aue from 1. FC Köln during the winter break and has since played ten competitive games for the third-division club. The club did not disclose the length of the new contract. The Hanau-born player is currently recovering from a syndesmosis injury that will keep him out of action until the end of the season.
