Augsburg – Wolfsburg betting tip, AI prediction & odds 15.03.2025

Bundesliga matchday 26, Saturday, 15.03.2025 at 15:30

Augsburg and Wolfsburg are going head-to-head for the international places – and Saturday will be a direct showdown.

While FCA have been racking up points of late, VfL could jump back into the coveted European Cup zone with a win. The first-round duel was already fiercely contested – who will prevail this time and take a big step towards the Conference League?

According to my Augsburg Wolfsburg betting tip, the home side are more likely to take this step. Even if the best betting providers with Apple Pay do not show any clear preferences in this regard.

FC Augsburg is currently in a really good mood – and that has not escaped the attention of the betting providers. Wolfsburg can therefore prepare for a hot dance.

FCA have now gone nine Bundesliga games unbeaten, setting a new club record in the process. No team in the league can currently boast a longer streak!

Wolfsburg, on the other hand, have also remained impressively consistent for seven unbeaten games. But will this streak be enough to stop Augsburg’s upward trend in the WWK Arena of all places?

The betting oddsmakers’ forecast?

With so many absentees on the VfL side, I would have expected the Fuggerstädter to be the clear favourites!

But the bookmakers are still predicting a close game. FCA is minimally favored at 2.60, while a win for the “Wolves” is quoted at around 2.85.

The draw is in the middle at 3.25 – a game with uncertain and therefore completely balanced Augsburg Wolfsburg odds.

AI prediction Augsburg vs Wolfsburg: That’s what ChatGPT

The Augsburg Wolfsburg AI prediction from ChatGPT offers three betting options, but only one of them really knocks my socks off.

For the high risk, “Win Wolfsburg & Both teams score” is recommended. I don’t like this tip very much, as VfL are currently missing too many key players to be able to celebrate a victory in this form in the WWK Arena of all places.

In contrast, the AI recommends “1st goal: Augsburg” for a medium risk. I like this much more, because FCA are capable of anything at the moment and could easily score the first goal.

Finally, “Double chance X2” is suggested for a safe bet. However, if anyone is going to take three points, it’s more likely to be the hosts, which makes this Augsburg Wolfsburg tip a less interesting proposition for me.

Analysis: Augsburg vs Wolfsburg

Augsburg continue their impressive run with a 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund and – as already mentioned – have now gone nine Bundesliga games unbeaten (5 wins, 4 draws), which is also a club record.

This run has catapulted them to 11th place, with the possibility of even reaching the European Cup if their form continues to be good.

However, their home record leaves a lot to be desired, as FCA have won just one of their last five games at the WWK Stadion (2 draws, 2 defeats).

Wolfsburg will look to exploit Augsburg’s weakness, as they too are on a run of seven unbeaten games, five of which have been draws.

Despite this run of draws, they are still fighting for a place in the top six and have already collected more points than in the whole of last season.

Wolfsburg’s away form is good, having won their last two away games against Werder Bremen and Stuttgart 2-1.

However, as I will show you in a moment, the Fuggerstädter are something of a fearful opponent for the “Wolves”.

Rating Analysis

“1:0 for FCA” at odds of around 8.00 is a result bet that I can imagine being extremely good. Augsburg has the potential to significantly increase the pressure on all other European Cup contenders with a narrow victory.

You should also make a note of “VfL under 0.5 goals” at odds of 3.10 together with a free bet. I’ll explain in more detail why I don’t think Wolfsburg will score a goal at all.

Augsburg vs. Wolfsburg: FCA as good as Barcelona?

Wolfsburg could face a difficult task on Saturday when they take on Augsburg.

FC Augsburg have not conceded a goal in their last five Bundesliga games and have extended their club record. In the five major leagues in Europe, only SC Freiburg have currently gone longer without conceding a goal (6 games).

In 2025, FCA have played seven times to nil and conceded just three goals in total – both the best record for “white vests” and a shared best for few goals conceded, together with FC Barcelona.

Augsburg will certainly be a tough nut to crack for the Wolves, as the hosts are playing really strongly this season.
With 33 points after 25 games, FC Augsburg are currently enjoying their third-best Bundesliga season. Only in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons did FCA have more points at this stage with 38 points each.

What is particularly impressive is that FCA have picked up more points in the first eight matchdays of the second half of the season than ever before in the Bundesliga – 16 points. This impressive form could be a worry for Wolves.

These are all powerful arguments for the Fuggerstädter holding the better cards on Saturday! Don’t you think so?

VfL are a match for FC Augsburg!

The “Wolves” will face an opponent on Saturday against whom they have not been able to do much in the past.

After all, FCA have not been beaten in six Bundesliga games against the club from Lower Saxony (3 wins, 3 draws). This makes Augsburg one of the few teams to have gone longer unbeaten against Wolfsburg!

Since the start of the pre-season, FCA have even picked up seven points in matches against VfL – only Heidenheim (9) and Gladbach (10) have scored more.

That should worry the visitors, especially considering the Fuggerstädter’s current strong form.

Some statistical facts clearly speak against VfL Wolfsburg and leave little room for optimism when it comes to scoring goals. I can therefore well imagine that FCA will actually play to nil!

FC Augsburg have not conceded a goal in any of the seven Bundesliga matches in which Cedric Zesiger has played. That’s quite a lot! Zesiger is currently on loan to FCA from VfL Wolfsburg.

What’s more, Augsburg’s Finn Dahmen is the best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga this season with an impressive 91% save rate.

My Augsburg Wolfsburg tip: DC 1X & Over 0.5 goals

Augsburg and Wolfsburg are both missing key players, but VfL are missing more key players overall. FCA currently look more settled and determined, which gives them an advantage.

Given their current form and home strength, it seems realistic that the hosts will be able to take something countable against the team from Lower Saxony, as they did in the first half of the season.

In my opinion, VfL will find it difficult to score any goals at all in the WWK Arena.

My tip: Double chance 1X & Over 0.5 goals
