Four points ahead – it’s not over yet! FC Barcelona continues to set its sights on the Spanish championship, but Real Madrid will not give up prematurely. On Tuesday, the Catalans have to tackle their next challenge.
In my Barcelona Mallorca tip, I will now focus on the Spanish title race and reveal why I am betting on a home win. However, I don’t see more than 4.5 goals in this match.
It’s exactly the title race the experts predicted. FC Barcelona are four points ahead of Real Madrid, with Atlético already trailing by ten points. When will the decision be made?
Barca haven’t made many mistakes in recent weeks. Eleven wins and a draw against Betis Sevilla is a really impressive record. It may be a form of luxury criticism, but were the last two wins really what you expected?
They beat Leganes 1-0 thanks to an own goal, but shortly afterwards they were treated to a complete contrast against Celta Vigo: 4-3! They were already 1-3 down, but a penalty from Raphinha in the eighth minute of stoppage time sparked wild celebrations.
With two goals and an assist, the Brazilian played a key role in securing the three points. Robert Lewandowski, on the other hand, has not scored in three league games, his longest drought of the season so far.
Are the narrow victories a sign of frayed nerves? After all, Barcelona also lost 1-3 to Dortmund in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Although the defeat was inconsequential after the 4-0 win in the first leg, it nevertheless revealed some weaknesses.
