Champions League, Tuesday, 02/18/2025 at 9:00 p.m.
A 2-1? That’s definitely not half the battle! The German record champions have to present themselves at their best on Tuesday to make sure of a place in the Champions League playoffs. In my Bayern Celtic Glasgow betting tip, I’ll tell you why I don’t think anything can go wrong here.
Since the Scots will now have to play without home advantage, I’m betting on a handicap and I see Munich winning by at least three goals. However, after the lackluster performance in the Bundesliga top game against Leverkusen, it’s clear that everyone in the FCB jersey will have to step up their game considerably.
In recent years, it has often been the case that after weak first-round games in the knockout phase at home, the turbo was ignited, and that’s exactly what I’m expecting this Tuesday. And don’t forget: Celtic was crushed 1-7 by Dortmund a few months ago.
German teams don’t really suit the green-whites, and the sacrificial play they display in front of their own fans often doesn’t work away from home. So should we expect a complete disaster too?
It could well be that it is only a question of height as to how the game in the Allianz Arena will end. But: I am of course assuming that Bayern will play differently than they did recently in Leverkusen.
The bookmakers’ forecast
In Glasgow, Bayern had a hard time, but that’s not necessarily the case in Munich. With all our best betting providers, the odds of a home win do not climb very high, averaging only 1.15.
Of course, the situation is quite different for the guests. If you want to take the risk and bet on an away win, you can certainly do that, with odds of 18.0.
A draw would be enough for the home side to advance, but that doesn’t necessarily seem likely either. A 7.50 is due, in the first leg it almost came to a draw.
“A Bayern victory with goals on both sides” also worked out, so I agree with the AI? I can certainly imagine that, because Munich only kept a clean sheet twice in the competition – and a 5-1 win would be quite nice for the fans to watch.
Will Harry Kane score? Actually, you can’t imagine that won’t happen against an opponent who’s not competing at eye level. Although the odds on this bet are only 1.40, my approval is virtually on top.
Analysis: Bayern vs Celtic Glasgow
Glasgow-Leverkusen-Glasgow-Leverkusen? You could do that! At FC Bayern, things are happening in rapid succession, there is hardly any time to rest. All the better that all the stars on the Isar are in top form as these decisive weeks approach.
After a mixed group stage in the newly formed Champions League, Munich have to take the exhausting route via the playoffs, but with Celtic Glasgow they have drawn a feasible opponent.
The first leg ended 2-1, and here the favorite had to tremble. After just a few seconds, they conceded the 0-1, only the VAR recognized a narrow offside position here.
The game was anything but one-sided, with FCB being marginally stronger. There was also a goal against once again; in seven of the nine CL encounters, the Bundesliga leaders have not managed to keep a clean sheet.
Rating analysis
I expect that Bayern will be leading by half time – but will have to fight hard for the lead. I therefore dare to place the bet “Under 1.5 goals”, at Betano this bet has odds of 1.65.
At the same time, this brings me to an outcome bet, my favorite is clearly 1-0. If that turns out to be the case in the end, you can get odds of 3.60 at Bet365. You can also conveniently place this tip on your smartphone using the Bet365 app.
If I had to choose one result bet at the end, I would go for a 4-1 for the German record champions – admittedly, also based on gut feeling. With odds of 13.5, this risk would definitely pay off.
Bayern vs. Celtic: Nobody likes to travel to the Allianz Arena
The two clean sheets were collected at home, which gives hope for the second leg against Celtic. The national dress rehearsal before the second duel? It brought Bayern the toughest possible opponent.
They went to Leverkusen – and there they concentrated solely on defending! The players seemed tired, there were no real chances – while at the back both defense and the aluminum wobbled!
In their own stadium, little can go wrong. In the Bundesliga, there were ten wins and one draw against Leverkusen, plus 37 goals. The Munich team also impressed at home in the Champions League.
Celtic want to avoid a thrashing
1-0 win against PSG and Benfica Lisbon, 3-1 win against Slovan Bratislava and 9-2 win against Dinamo Zagreb. 24 shots on goal against Benfica, 35 against Slovan, 18 against Paris and 29 against Zagreb?
In total, Bayern took 106 shots on goal in their four CL home games! The yield from the last three games was definitely too low at five goals, they have to make much more of their own chances.
How many shots on target were there against Leverkusen? Not a single one! It’s quite possible that Celtic will now have to pay for the fact that nothing worked out against the Werkself last Saturday.
In the first leg, the Bhoys put up a really sacrificial fight, nobody knows how the game would have ended if the supposed 1-0 in the first minute hadn’t counted.
It was their first home defeat in the current competition, and now Celtic have to turn it around away from home, of all places. We know from Scottish teams: at home, a gigantic atmosphere provides a boost, while away from home, that’s exactly what’s not the case.
1-7 against Dortmund? In the very first CL away game this season, the green-whites got their comeuppance. Atalanta Bergamo and Dinamo Zagreb then drew 0-0, while the defense was overwhelmed again in the 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa.
Two defeats with a lot of goals conceded, two clean sheets, the performances in the double-header couldn’t have been more different. Incidentally, seven of the 11 goals against were conceded before half-time; at BVB alone, there were five of them.
It is also interesting to note that the three away goals scored by Celtic were all scored in the first 45 minutes. Another defensive fact: the home side conceded four times before the clock had even reached ten minutes of play.
One win from 13 duels with German teams: it would take a miracle for Celtic to pull off an upset on Tuesday. Celtic actually collected more clean sheets than FCB!
They kept three clean sheets, including against the reigning Europa League champions from Bergamo. By the way, I don’t have to go into much detail about Celtic’s dress rehearsal: 3-0 against Dundee, still a double-digit lead in the table, nothing is going to burn here anymore.
My Bayern Celtic Glasgow Tip:
Will Bayern make short work of Celtic Glasgow on Tuesday? The first leg was exciting until the end, but that’s exactly what you have to expect when you play in front of the frenetic fans at Celtic Park.
There will certainly be thousands of supporters at the Isar, but the backdrop is quite different. I therefore estimate that there is not much in it for the Bhoys, and I also have the 1-7 defeat by Dortmund at the back of my mind.
In their own stadium, Bayern collect victory after victory, but they could have scored significantly more goals in their four home games in the CL. That’s why I’m betting on a handicap bet for this game and saying:
A home win with a three-goal lead is possible!
