Conference League, quarter final, first leg, Thursday, 10.04.2025 at 21:00
There are a few favorites for the title – and Betis Sevilla is one of them! The Andalusians, who are in really good form in the league at the moment, will play their quarter-final first leg in the Conference League on Thursday.
In my Betis Sevilla Jagiellonia tip, they are, as you can probably already guess, the clear favorite. So I need to have good reasons on my side to convince you that the “Under 3.5 goals” bet is the right one here.
An international title would be something for Betis Sevilla. The green-whites are among the best teams in the competition, even though they got through the group stage rather poorly.
They somehow managed to scrape through against Legia Warsaw (0-1), Copenhagen (1-1), Celje (2-1), Mlada Boleslav (1-2), Petrocub (1-0) and Helsinki (1-0), and the results were not particularly convincing.
Narrow victories against weak opponents, the fans themselves weren’t sure whether their team had taken the third-highest international competition seriously. In the intermediate round against Ghent, not everything went as planned either.
After the 3-0 from the first leg, they took it easy a little in their own stadium, but only went through thanks to a 0-1. In the round of 16 against Guimaraes, Betis also failed to secure two wins.
After the 2:2 draw, anything seemed possible, but a 4:0 win in the second leg ended the opponent’s dreams. Phew… how am I supposed to summarize THESE results and classify the team correctly?!
Do they play better at home or away? Let’s just say that the team did indeed celebrate the clear victories against Ghent and Guimaraes away from home. But I did notice one very interesting thing: in nine Conference League games, Betis Sevilla have kept a clean sheet in the first half, only conceding once before half-time on matchday one against Legia. There have been 23 goals in total.
In nine Conference League games, Betis Sevilla have kept a clean sheet in the first half, only conceding once before half-time on matchday one against Legia. There have been 23 goals in total, only six of them in the first half.
For me, the bet “More goals in the second half” makes sense in any case, which comes at Betano on a rate of 1.88. 1:0, 0:0, 1:0, 0:0, 0:0? The domestic half-time results do not read particularly spectacularly!
If you are therefore expecting a goalless draw after the first 45 minutes, Betano offers odds of 3.55. Those who want to risk the “double chance X2”, on the other hand, will be rewarded with 2.05.
In any case, I also have to take a look at the league, because: last weekend, the Andalusians actually managed to stop FC Barcelona’s winning streak and take a 1-1 draw.
Six wins (including against Real) and now a draw, Betis are on fire in La Liga. After losing 1-0 to Legia Warsaw a few months ago, this will only be the second time that Betis have faced a Polish team.
Our PayPal bookmakers have the Spaniards well in front, with odds averaging 1.30 to 9.50. Somehow logical, because hand on heart? How much do you know about Jagiellonia Bialystok? The quarter-finals are a real sensation, the club had never been noticed outside the international qualifiers before.
With wins against Copenhagen (2-1), Petrocub (2-0) and Molde (3-0), Jagiellonia entered the competition and surprised everyone. After the weak further appearances against Celje (3-3), Mlada Boleslav (0-1) and Olimpija Ljubljana (0-0), they at least reached the playoffs.
There, Topola was knocked out of the competition with two 3:1 wins. In the round of 16, the Poles apparently thought: Now we’ll make it really exciting. Against Cercle Bruges, namely, the first leg was won 3:0.
Half the battle? In the end, yes, because after a very mixed game and a 0-2 deficit, Jagiellonia took a deep breath. It was enough to advance, but of course it was anything but a brilliant performance.
I don’t take the fact that they haven’t won in the Polish league twice in a row recently as a benchmark, because when you’re fighting this far forward in Europe for the first time in the club’s history, you have to set priorities.
Betis Sevilla against Jaggielonia? Yes, at first glance that sounds like a David versus Goliath game. However, I have to honestly say: the Spaniards are not really performing convincingly in Europe.
They may be in top form in the Primera Division, but not in the Conference League. Jagiellonia has absolutely nothing to lose; this season is already a historic one for the club.
Therefore, I can well imagine that we can expect an incredibly close game here. Betis will have a lot to do, so I predict:
Three goals max!
