The Primera Division is coming thick and fast! Betis Sevilla must finally start a small winning streak, otherwise they will remain in mid-table.
The opponent is a neighboring team in the table, but is not exactly excelling offensively. That’s my cue, because I’ll now tell you in my Betis Sevilla Mallorca tip why I’m expecting a less than exciting game and am therefore betting on “double chance 1X” at under 3.5 goals.
Somehow, Real Betis Sevilla has started the new season quite well, but somehow they are also missing a few points to be able to play at the top. “Not again,” one or two fans will surely think.
A year ago, only two of the first seven games had been won, and five of the first ten had no winners at all. Something that could happen again in 2024/25, but let’s take one thing at a time.
The only defeat came in a 2-0 loss to Real Madrid, while the Andalusians drew with Girona (1-1) and Alaves (0-0). The two wins came against Getafe (2-1) and Leganes (2-0).
These results do not necessarily suggest that Betis like to play an attacking game. Only against Getafe were the 2.5 goals scored, and fittingly, the opponent’s goal only came in injury time.
A glance at the Betano app reveals: the bet on fewer than 2.5 goals just gets the odds of 1.50. I’m sticking with this betting provider because tips regarding the first 45 minutes are also available here.
In the last four games, the score was always 0-0 at half-time. If you also bet on this for Monday, Betano will give you odds of 2.35.
Betis only scored one goal in the first half, so if you want to bet on there not being any goals in this period, you are still in with a good chance at odds of 1.75.
Two wins and a draw: however harmless the green-and-whites often appear, they are very difficult to beat at home. That was already the case in 2023/24, when they only suffered three defeats.
RCD Mallorca is an opponent that the Andalusians actually like to play. They have not been beaten in ten games, winning eight of them. The last three wins have all been clean sheets.
Since April 2002, well over 20 years ago, there has only been one game in this rivalry with more than three goals! This also supports my tip quite well, so I will also take a look at the 1×2 odds.
With an average of 1.95, the home side go into the game, while Mallorca, on the other hand, are given a value of 4.40. Interesting: the draw is at a relatively low 3.15.
The Mallorcans are, of course, aware of their role as underdogs, but they haven’t scored that many points. In fact, their points tally is exactly the same, although they have played a game more.
0:1 against Osasuna and 1:2 against Villarreal? They didn’t need either of those defeats. Especially not because the second goal against Villarreal was only conceded on the final whistle.
1:1 against Real Madrid and Sevilla FC, plus 1:0 wins against Real Sociedad and Leganes, it’s really close in every match. Four goals were scored, which is not exactly many.
Last season was the big weak point, in 38 rounds it had only rung 33 times. Too bad: With Vedat Muriqi, the important center forward is out for a long time with a broken lower leg.
In my analysis, I didn’t have to mention that Betis Sevilla is individually stronger than Mallorca. However, neither team has really won many games yet, and the Andalusians are also giving away too many points.
In my prediction, I have of course recognized that relatively few goals are being scored on both sides and that history has also shown how little is being offered offensively here. Mallorca were already the second-worst attacking club among all non-relegated teams in 2023/24.
Taking all these facts together, I come to the conclusion that the guests will not be victorious and that we are not likely to see a shooting match. Therefore, my betting combination is:
Betis scores with less than 3.5 goals!
