The now 39-year-old Modric is not having an easy time at Real Madrid and would be a welcome emotional boost for the “Royal Blues”. Dinamo are currently under pressure in the league, as they are “only” in third place behind Hajduk Split and Rijeka.
Given their ambitions to defend the title, a place on the podium that is not the top one would of course be completely inadequate for the GNK.
What is impressive, however, is how the “Modri” pulled themselves together after the bitter 9-2 defeat against the German record champions in the Champions League.
Despite this debacle, they are still ahead of the German record champions in the standings with 7 points after just four match days – a clear sign of mental strength.
On the other hand, Bjelovar, the committed third division side, have caused a sensation this season. The “yellow-blues” recently impressed at home with resounding victories over Jadran Porec and Marsonia, who they knocked out of the stadium with 7:2 and 4:0 respectively.
Historically, Bjelovar have never lost to Dinamo by a single goal, a fact that was impressively demonstrated back in 2003 and 2016. Both times they scored cup goals against the big favorites, even if they lost to them in the end.
With this strong home record and attacking momentum, they could well cause the visitors from Zagreb to falter.
The fans expect their team to give everything with passion and fighting spirit to upset the favorites. But will that be enough to stand up to the quality of the capital city team?

An exciting option would be the “Both teams to score” bet, as Bjelovar have historically always been good for goals and Dinamo are proving to be surprisingly vulnerable defensively this season.
