Bodö/Glimt – Inter Milan Tip Champions League, playoffs, first leg on Wednesday, 18.02.2026 at 21:00 CET
What the Norwegians have achieved in the league phase, especially in front of their own crowd, is one of the most exciting chapters of the 2025/26 season for me. But as much as I would like to, my football expertise does not see it breaking through decisively on Wednesday.
Because although the fast artificial turf is familiar to the Norwegians, I prefer to opt for a Bodö/Glimt Inter Milan tip, according to which at odds of around 1.62 goals will fall under 3.5 at the Aspmyra Stadium.
The Milanese have noticed what happened to the Citizens here recently and will be careful not to make any unnecessary mistakes. Their xGA value of 0.98 was the fourth lowest in the premier class so far anyway.
So be prepared for very deep-lying Italians, who will repel almost all Norwegian attack attempts.
The only previous meetings between Bodö/Glimt and Internazionale were in the 1978/79 European Cup Winners’ Cup, when the Italians won 7-1 on aggregate (5-0 home, 2-1 away).
Incidentally, this is only the second UEFA Champions League knockout tie between a Norwegian and an Italian club after Juventus eliminated Rosenborg BK 3-1 on aggregate in the 1996/97 quarter-finals.
Bodö/Glimt – Inter Milan Prediction & Betting
Just because Bodö/Glimt has taught Atletico Madrid and Manchester City to fear, it doesn’t mean that they will win the Champions League in the end.
Admittedly, the selection of Bodö/Glimt under 0.5 goals would not have been crowned with success often in recent months, but if anyone can tame it, it is the Milanese “Catenaccio”.
Meanwhile, the strong odds of around 3.10 are a good argument to actually take this risk. Internazionale is known to defend fantastically and is also warned!
At this point, we now come to the biggest disagreement I have with the predictions of our computer-generated Bodö/Glimt Inter Milan AI prediction. More on that in a moment!
For my part, I consider the ratio between stake and payout of 1 to 4 in the event of a successful draw bet to be more attractive than that for an away win for Milan.
What you need to know about Bodö/Glimt vs. Inter Milan betting
- Fortress Aspmyra: Under long-term coach Kjetil Knutsen, Bodö/Glimt have won 30 of their last 39 European home games and recently proved with a 3-1 win against Manchester City that they can also hold their own against the big boys.
- Inter’s defensive bulwark: Milan travel with a record of just 0.98 expected goals conceded (xG) per game – the fourth-best figure in the competition – and even remained unbeaten in Munich and Barcelona last season.
- Guaranteed spectacle in Norway: At least three goals have been scored in 75% of Bodö/Glimt’s home games so far this Champions League season, which underlines the courageous style of play of the underdogs.
- Kasper Högh in goal frenzy: The striker is in top form in time for the knockout games and has scored three of his team’s four goals in the last two games against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.
Bodö/Glimt – Inter Milan: AI Tip & Odds Analysis
As previously indicated, our Bodö/Glimt Inter Milan AI prediction prefers an away win bet at odds around 1.72 to any other possible 1X2 scenario.
Basically, I can’t argue with that, as Internazionale have won seven of their last eight competitive games and only Arsenal London have been beaten in that period.
But I would have expected a bit higher Bodö/Glimt Inter Milan odds to be able to speak of a worthwhile football bet with plenty of value – especially when you consider how unpleasant away games in the Aspmyra Stadium can be.
Both to score – No to odds of about 2.40, which are unusually high for this type of bet, is also recommended to me, although in the league phase exactly the exact opposite was the case in seven of Bodö/Glimt’s eight games!
Nevertheless, I don’t think a clean sheet performance by the strong Italians is out of the question – and if you don’t believe in a clean sheet, then if I were you, I would take a more targeted approach to avoid unnecessary “loss of value”.
What is meant is the combination bet to win Inter & without conceding a goal at odds of around 3.60. Because that implies that the Italians will put themselves in an excellent starting position for the second leg with a 1-0, 2-0 but also 3-0, for example.
The best odds for Bodö/Glimt vs. Inter Milan
The European adventure of FK Bodö/Glimt continues to cause astonished faces, but the betting markets remain sober and have not yet been carried away by the success story to a reassessment. Against Inter Milan, the bookmakers see the roles quite clearly distributed.
A home win for the underdog is 4.20. The providers acknowledge the offensive drive, home strength and courage of the Norwegians, but classify their chances of the next big coup as limited.
The draw is also listed at 4.20. This result fits in with a game in which Bodö/Glimt countered with intensity and Inter took control at times without landing the decisive blow.
An away win by Internazionale, on the other hand, is 1.72. The markets rely on international serenity, tactical maturity and individual class. The Italians are considered a more stable overall formation that also finds solutions in unpleasant away games.
Bodo/Glimt vs Inter Milan Match Analysis:
Inter Milan is simply too ripped off and tactically too well prepared for the Norwegians to make a similar slip here as Manchester City did recently.
In all likelihood, Milan will be very controlled and cautious, circulating the ball and hardly offering the opponent any open spaces. This is exactly where one of the biggest strengths of the team under Cristian Chivu currently lies.
Although Inter are in a good goalscoring mood offensively, the foundation of international success remains the defence, which is also shown by the fact that they conceded an average of only 0.88 goals in the league phase.
FK Bodö/Glimt should nevertheless try to build up pressure with a lot of speed and offensive drive and take the spectators with them. However, there is much to suggest that Inter will remain calm, cleverly shift the sides and consistently condense the gaps.
As a result, scoring chances for the Norwegians could remain scarce for long stretches, while the Italians patiently lie in wait for mistakes and play out their transition moments in a targeted manner.
Bodö/Glimt Form Check
For Bodö/Glimt, this season is historic, because for the first time the Norwegian club is in the knockout phase of the Champions League. However, the way there was marked by plenty of luck and bad luck.
Because in the first six games, the team remained without a win, although the performances were often better than the results.
Especially between matchdays one and four, the bad luck in front of the goal became apparent, when Bodö/Glimt remained well behind the expected goals despite good chances.
Nevertheless, the team proved with a home draw against Tottenham Hotspur and a strong away performance at Borussia Dortmund that they can absolutely compete at this level.
Coach Kjetil Knutsen is likely to rely again on the formation that recently surprisingly won against Atletico Madrid.
However, the rhythm of the game remains a particular challenge, as the Norwegian league is already over and the team is currently only preparing with training and test matches.
The personnel situation is at least positive: Bodö/Glimt can draw on almost everything and travels to this important duel with an almost completely fit squad.
Inter Milan Formcheck
Inter is now almost part of the inventory of the late Champions League phase. Two finals in the last three years speak for themselves, even if they missed out on a direct jump to the round of 16 this time.
The 2-0 away win at Borussia Dortmund at the end of the league phase once again showed the quality of the Italians, but before that, Inter had experienced a small slump after a strong start with four wins.
Defeats against top opponents such as Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Arsenal prevented direct participation in the round of 16.
In terms of personnel, there is mixed news. Denzel Dumfries is back in training, but both the duel against Juventus and the trip to Bodö/Glimt could come too early. Nicolo Barella, whose return is not planned until March, will certainly be missing.
Hakan Calhanoglu, on the other hand, gives hope, who is getting closer to his comeback, but is still considered questionable for the game in Norway!
