Bodö/Glimt – Red Star betting tip, prediction & odds 20.08.2024

Champions League Quali, Playoffs, First leg, Tuesday, 20.08.2024 at 21:00

It’s the final round, then the draw can be made! In the Champions League qualifiers, the teams are grabbing the last tickets for the group stage, and the playoffs are definitely not lacking in excitement

In my Bodö/Glimt Red Star Belgrade betting tip, I’m taking a look at two teams who are both in good form. It’s quite conceivable that there will be some goals on show. I’ll now reveal how I arrive at this theory in my analysis:

Bodö/Glimt in the Champions League? That would be something! The Norwegian representative has shown its mettle a few times in the other two UEFA competitions in recent years.

The quarter-finals of the Conference League in the 2021/22 season were one of the absolute highlights in the club’s history, as they even won the first leg against AS Roma 2:1

So now it’s set to be the highest competition in Europe. The Norwegians’ journey began in the 2nd round of qualifying, when RFS were literally swept off their feet with scores of 4:0 and 3:1.

Jagiellonia awaited a little later, but it was only briefly close here. After the 1-0 away win in the first leg, Bodö celebrated a very confident 4-1 at home. Second home game in the qualifiers, second time four goals, that was something to be proud of!

The bottom line is that all the games ended in victory. Will that be enough to make our bookmakers favor us to advance to the group stage? There are not only the pure win odds for the encounter with Belgrade!

1.50 to 2.40 – if you take a look around Betano, you’ll see that Bodö/Glimt are the favorites. And what about the first duel, which takes place in Norway?

1.65 to 4.75 on average, here things look even clearer. The league has been running in Norway since the beginning of April, so there is definitely no question of a lack of rhythm here.

Bodö are confidently leading the table and have not yet lost in their own stadium anyway. Admittedly, there is a lot to be said for the yellows finally finding a place in the top flight

But: They came very close two years ago, winning the first leg of the play-offs 1:0 against Dinamo Zagreb. Their nerves didn’t hold in the second match, with extra time resulting in a 4:1 loss and thus their elimination.

The team has therefore been warned, as a number of players are still involved today. Nevertheless, they go into the match as favorites, although their opponents should by no means be underestimated.

The Red Star was in the group stage in 2018, 2019 and 2023, but has never made it past that stage. I actually find it much more difficult to analyze the Serbian top team than their opponents

The simple reason: Belgrade are only now entering the qualifiers. It would therefore be a relatively easy path to the top flight, although I wouldn’t call Bodö/Glimt my favorite opponent.

The Serbs have already played five games in their league, with four wins and one draw. The results: Twice 4:0, twice 4:1 and one 2:2, concentrated offensive power is at work here!

Admittedly, teams like Novi Pazar, Cukaricki or Tekstilac are unlikely to be able to keep up with Bodö, so their offense won’t have it as easy as in the league.

You hardly notice that Osman Bukari and Jean-Philippe Krasso have left the club. Felicio Milson and Nasser Djiga are great new additions, while Bruno Duarte and Jose Luis Rodriguez have also been signed for the attack

Will we see a newcomer in the Champions League? Bodö/Glimt, who have repeatedly caught the eye in the Europa League and Conference League in recent years, are reaching for the top flight and are just two steps away.

Their performances so far have been flawless, winning all their games. Above all, the offense is scoring, which likes to score three or more goals. On the Red Star side, only national matches were available for analysis.

However, they had a lot to offer, with an average of more than three goals! For me, these are therefore the best conditions for betting on an interesting match on Tuesday:

We see more than 2.5 goals!
