The Jake Paul – Mike Tyson boxing match was originally scheduled for July 20, 2024.
However, this date could not be met because Tyson was unable to train properly due to a stomach ulcer. He had been advised to do only minimal to light training in the next few weeks, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced. Therefore, the fight could not take place on July 20.
Mike Tyson is said to have had a medical incident during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles shortly before. Tyson’s spokesperson said at the time that Mike Tyson had felt nauseous and dizzy shortly before landing due to a stomach ulcer.

Tyson ended his professional boxing career in 2005 with an embarrassing defeat to Kevin McBride. In 2020, he returned to the ring for an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. The duel between the two old masters ended in a (staged) draw.
