We once again been hard at work drawing up their expert Bundesliga predictions for the nine matches on match day 28. Here you will find an overview of the predictions for all the games:
Augsburg – Bayern
With the 1-1 draw at TSG Hoffenheim, when Augsburg conceded again after previously going six league games in a row without conceding a goal, the FCA also remained unbeaten in the eleventh consecutive Bundesliga game (6W, 5D). This is not only a club record, but also the longest streak in the league. Accordingly, the team from Fuggerstadt also has something to play for against Bayern.
However, Munich have won all of their last five direct duels and, with 23 points, are also the best team in the top flight in the second half of the season. But: in the ten games of the second half of the season so far, the German record champions have already conceded as many goals as in the entire first half of the season (13).
Our expert Isabella therefore expects a difficult away trip for the league leaders. She expects the result to be as close as the FCA and FCB are alphabetically. After only two wins in 23 consecutive Bundesliga games, Heidenheim captured just as many three-pointers on the last two matchdays alone. How is Leverkusen reacting to the embarrassment of Bielefeld? A few days after the embarrassing cup exit at the hands of the third division club, Bayer has to refocus on the Bundesliga. Bochum – Stuttgart
Bochum has fond memories of the last home game against Stuttgart. In the previous season, VfL won 1-0. But: It was the only victory of the Ruhr kickers in the last 15 direct duels with the Swabians (4U, 10N). With 20 points after 27 match days, Bochum are currently experiencing the weakest Bundesliga season in their club history. At home, they have lost three of their last four games (1S).
After advancing to the final of the DFB Cup thanks to a 3-1 win over Leipzig, VfB is in high spirits as it travels to VfL. The Swabians now want to take the momentum from the cup with them into the Bundesliga, where they have not won in six games. In five of those six games, Stuttgart had led. The record from these last six Bundesliga games: four defeats and only two draws.

Freiburg – Dortmund
After four straight clean sheets, Freiburg’s form has recently taken a significant downturn. Although these four wins were followed by three draws, meaning that the sports club remained unbeaten in a total of seven consecutive games, in which they kept a clean sheet six times. However, with the defeat against Union Berlin last weekend, none of the last four games have been won (3W, 1D).
Dortmund, on the other hand, managed to turn things around last weekend, beating Mainz 3:1 at home. Now, BVB also wants to win away from home. But away games have been the black and yellow’s Achilles’ heel so far. After 13 away games, they only rank 16th in the away table with a 3-2-8 record. This is the worst away record for Borussia in 17 years.

However, the Kraichgauer had won the first leg at home 4-3. After drawing the second leg last season, 1899 could now go three consecutive seasons without beating RB for the first time ever. But TSG has not won in six away games in Leipzig (2W, 4D).

Mainz – Kiel
After six consecutive Bundesliga games unbeaten (4W, 2D), Mainz were last caught out by crisis-hit Dortmund, of all teams. Nevertheless, with 45 points after 27 match days, the FSV are still enjoying their best Bundesliga season. On a Saturday, the “zero-fivers” have not lost any of their last nine games (7W, 2D). The last five Bundesliga defeats all happened on a different day.
In Kiel, on the other hand, the situation is becoming increasingly precarious. After the second defeat in a row with three goals conceded, the bottom-of-the-table team is five points behind the relegation place. The storks are also bottom of the away table with a 1-3-9 record and 20:33 goals. Interestingly, only six teams have scored more away from home than the KSV.

In each of the last seven duels between the two clubs in Bremen, there were at least three goals. In six of these seven encounters, both clubs also made it onto the scoreboard. For the first time in seven games, St. Pauli managed to score twice last weekend. But even two goals at the Allianz Arena should not be enough to take anything home from Munich (2-3). A 1-0 home win over Leipzig was enough to give Gladbach their second straight three-point haul and put them on the verge of their first three-game winning streak in almost five years. The chances are not bad. The Foals have won all of their last four Bundesliga away games. The last time the Foals managed that in a single season was 30 years ago.
Union Berlin – Wolfsburg
Union Berlin have not been beaten in three matches. In these three games, the Irons have picked up as many wins (2) as in the 17 Bundesliga games before that combined. At home, however, the Berliners have only won one of their last ten matches in the top flight (4W, 5D). With 16 points and eleven goals after 13 home matches, the Berliners are experiencing the weakest home season in their Bundesliga history.
Wolfsburg’s dream of Europe has suffered a major blow after the 0-1 home defeat to relegation candidates Heidenheim, their second defeat in a row. The Wolves have only won two of the previous ten games in the second half of the season (5U, 3N). Only bottom-placed Kiel have scored fewer goals
