From the end of June to mid-August, a large number of Bundesliga test matches are scheduled for 2024. The 36 teams from the first and second Bundesliga will be preparing for the new 2024/25 season during the summer months.
The different scheduling is particularly interesting. Some teams, such as champions Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, play very few preparation matches, while other clubs, such as Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund, play several more.
The clubs also differ in their approach to choosing opponents. Some first and second division clubs tend to choose lower-ranked opponents, while some teams play their Bundesliga Test Matches 2024 against nominally stronger teams and international opponents.

The list of Bundesliga test matches in 2024 is long and also includes some games against well-known international opponents.
The highlights certainly include those of current champions Bayer Leverkusen as well as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Bayer Leverkusen’s 2024 summer schedule includes clashes with RC Lens and Arsenal on August 3 and 7 respectively.
Bayern Munich’s 2024 test matches are a little less varied, with the Munich side facing Tottenham twice – on August 3 on the Audi Summer Tour in South Korea and then on August 1 in London.
Internationally challenging opponents also await Borussia Dortmund as part of its preparations.
As part of the trip to Asia on BVB’s 2024 summer schedule, they will face BG Pathum United and Cerezo Osaka. Borussia will then test themselves against FC Villarreal (August 6) and on the day of the season opener (August 10), they will host Aston Villa at Signal Iduna Park.
However, Leverkusen, Bayern and Dortmund are by no means the only teams to face big teams.
RB Leipzig have two English test match opponents on the list of Bundesliga Test Matches 2024: on August 1 against Aston Villa and on August 4 against Wolverhampton. The Rasenballers will also play Lazio Roma on August 10.
The Bundesliga test match dates on the VfB Stuttgart 2024 summer schedule also look interesting: The Swabians will test against Athletic Bilbao (August 10), among others.
Also on August 10, Eintracht Frankfurt will face Spanish club FC Valencia as a dress rehearsal for the new season. For newly promoted St. Pauli, for example, the preparation match against Olympique Lyon (24.7., 18:00) stands out
Bundesliga test match dates 2024 of the second division teams
Many second-division clubs – especially those among the favorites for Bundesliga promotion – also have international opponents on the 2024 Bundesliga Test Matches schedule.
Hamburger SV will face Nantes on July 20 and Cardiff City a day later on July 21, among others. Fortuna Düsseldorf are on the list of Bundesliga Test Matches 2024 with a clash against Galatasaray Istanbul (Mon., 15.7., 19:30).
Schalke’s 2024 summer schedule includes a test match against Twente Enschede (24.7.). FC Köln will test against St. Truiden on July 19, among others.
Other highlights include 1. FC Nürnberg’s clash against Juventus Turin (Fri., 26.7., 17:00) and Karlsruher SC against RC Strasbourg (Sat., 27.7., 15:30).
Who broadcasts the test matches on TV?
Some of the scheduled 2024 Bundesliga test matches will be broadcast live on TV or streamed. Which ones these are or when and where the individual matches will be shown is often only decided at short notice.
Basically, Sky is also the first port of call for the broadcast of the 2024 Bundesliga test matches. It is already known that some matches will be shown live.
