My Cagliari Como betting tip is about the only C&C duel in Serie A, if you like. Which of the two can prevail in the last match of the 2nd Serie A matchday?

Cagliari – and I already said this last week – will find it very difficult to finish the 2024/25 season above the line.
The problem is not so much that the Sardinians have cut back on personnel and let too many key players go, but rather the quality of the two promoted teams.
The “Rossoblu” will face one of these two newcomers, FC Como, for the seventh time in history in a Serie A match next Monday.
There’s no need to go into detail about their record in head-to-head matches in the top flight at this point, however, as the last time they met at kick-off was 42 years and 151 days ago.
Como lost their opening game against Juventus 3-0, which was to be expected given that the “Bianconeri” have perhaps the best Italian coach at the moment in Thiago Motta on the sidelines.
Nevertheless, I share the opinion of most Serie A experts, who continue to assert that the promoted team will in all likelihood have nothing to do with the relegation battle.
The main reason for this is the more than €40 million spent on transfers in the summer – and this does not even include all the superstars who have moved to Como.
Raphael Varrane, for example, moved from Manchester United to the promoted club on a free transfer.
At this point, you can probably already guess that I’m more inclined to put my trust in the visiting team.

In most sports betting apps, you will be confronted with odds of around 1.42 if the promoted team scores over 0.5 goals on Monday.
The fact that Como lost 3-0 to Juventus in their first competitive game since March 2024, when they lost 2-1 to Cremonese, gives me confidence.
After all, the promoted team will travel to Sardinia with plenty of confidence and their performance against Juventus wasn’t subterranean either.

Against a team that, like Cagliari, does not have a dominant central axis, the Italian international, who has moved from Roma to the promoted side, could be called upon more often than he was a week ago at the Allianz Stadium.
