Enzo Maresca (45) and Chelsea FC are going their separate ways with immediate effect. The Premier League fifth-placed club announced this on New Year’s Day. This was preceded by a December in which not only the results failed to materialize, but above all atmospheric disturbances between the head coach and his superiors had come to light. The Italian had joined from Leicester in the summer of 2024 for a double-digit million transfer fee and had won the Conference League and Club World Cup in his debut season. Liam Rosenior from Chelsea’s partner club Racing Strasbourg is being discussed as a successor.
