Conference League round of 16, second leg, Thursday, 13/03/2025 at 9:00 p.m.
Seven wins in seven games – that’s something to be proud of! Chelsea FC are the measure of all things in the Conference League and want to book their ticket to the quarter-finals on Thursday. The lead is relatively small.
In my Chelsea FC Copenhagen betting tip, I will therefore try to assess the guests’ chances, because maybe they can at least make life difficult for the Blues. In the end, however, I still think a narrow victory for the favorites is likely, and I am betting on “Over 1.5 goals”.
Is Chelsea FC on their way to an international title? Of course, there are still a few games to be played, but the Blues seem to be taking the Conference League very seriously this season.
They completed the preliminary round with six wins, beating Ghent, Panathinaikos, Noah, Heidenheim, Astana and the Shamrock Rovers. All of the victories here were by at least two goals.
In the first leg of the round of 16, the Londoners finally traveled to Copenhagen. Although they were superior in terms of play, the relatively few chances were fairly evenly distributed. 2:2 shots on target? This statistic ultimately resulted in a 2:1 victory for Chelsea.
So you really can’t blame the team for a lack of efficiency. Chelsea have now conceded goals in five of seven CL games, and it has been exactly one each time. Although three of the five goals were conceded at home, the Blues are much more offensive there.
4:2, 8:0, 5:1 – not bad! So do the Danes have something to fear from the big attack? There were at least four goals per home game, so if you want to bet on “Over 3.5 goals Chelsea”, you can get odds of 2.50 at Bet365.
The Bet365 new customer bonus also offers you a plus in your account. Basically, everything seems to point to Chelsea collecting their eighth victory in the Conference League on Thursday.
In the Premier League, the Blues have also become a strong home side, managing to win their last four home games. They have only lost twice at Stamford Bridge anyway.
The last time Chelsea hosted FC Copenhagen in London was back in 2011, when the team was competing for a place in the Champions League quarterfinals. The result: a dismal 0-0, because after the 2-0 first-leg win, the favorites had nothing left to play for.
What I wanted to mention by the way: Ten of the last 13 home goals, the Blues have already scored in the first half. They were also ahead in the three games after the first 45 minutes.
The tip “Chelsea lead at half-time” would get a rate of 1.80 at Betano, they say the Blues score in this period, and 1.52 is also possible. Those who go straight to the “Over 1.5 goals” will be really rewarded with a 3.30.
Incidentally, the general odds for a win are 1.35 to 8.75, so the question of who the favorite is does not arise. Nevertheless, Copenhagen put in a thoroughly respectable performance in the first leg.
That was not necessarily to be expected, because in the playoffs, the Danes only just managed to beat Heidenheim, the relegation candidates from the 1st Bundesliga, in extra time.
The group stage itself didn’t exactly blow me away either, with two wins (2-1 against Dinamo Minsk and 2-0 against Hearts), but it was just enough to make it into the playoffs.
18 times the FCK has met a club from England so far, the record of two wins, five draws and eleven defeats is of course anything but promising.
The wild title fight in the Danish league probably also doesn’t allow Copenhagen to fully prepare for the Conference League, while Chelsea have nothing to do with the decision of the championship.
Chelsea and the Conference League, that’s the story of this season. The Blues win all their games, especially at home there is nothing to complain about. The victories are more than clear, and a draw would be enough against Copenhagen.
The guests from Denmark cannot keep up with the individual class, have somehow cheated their way into and through the playoffs and have only won a total of three games in regular time.
Since Chelsea have scored a lot of goals at Stamford Bridge, I have decided to combine this offensive fact with the role of favorites and to bet in total:
Chelsea win with over 1.5 goals!
