I took a close look at the starting position for my Chelsea PSG tip on Tuesday evening. After the heavy 5-2 defeat in the first leg in Paris, the Blues naturally have their backs to the wall and now need a real football miracle!
That’s why I’m committed: Plenty of goals will be scored here again! My focus is clearly on Over 2.5 goals. Fittingly, I found odds of 1.40, which can serve as the basis for another combination.
Why am I so sure about goals? Chelsea have to take full risks from the first minute and storm come hell or high water. Of course, this opens up huge spaces for the Parisians’ lightning-fast attackers to counterattack. So an offensive spectacle is almost pre-programmed here!
The first leg was a veritable festival of goals and ended with a spectacular 5-2 win for Paris. The omens for the second leg are clearly on the attack, because there is absolutely nothing left to lose for the Londoners. They have to go all out on the offensive.

I would actually let that go through my head. After all, the Blues have won all four home games in the Champions League. This includes a convincing 3-0 win against FC Barcelona.
At Stamford Bridge, they have also conceded only one goal in the Champions League this season. PSG, on the other hand, has not always been convincing away from home, which gives Chelsea a real chance of winning at home.

For Paris Saint-Germain to win, the algorithm spits out a probability of 37.0%. At 22.0%, the data experts consider a draw to be the most unlikely 1X2 result.
As a betting suggestion, our data model recommends the Draw-no-Bet: Chelsea option at odds of around 1.62. Therefore, it is not quite as confident as I am that the Londoners will at least win the second showdown in the end.

The numbers reflect that PSG does not have to play for a win here, but has the 5-2 behind them. Analysts expect Chelsea to take risks early on, which will either lead to a home win or open up ice-cold opportunities for the guests to counterattack.
In the overall calculation for progression, Paris is of course long through for the bookies, but for the 90 minutes in London, Chelsea is seen slightly ahead.

Luis Enrique’s team have only won one of their last three away games in the Champions League. Despite the comfortable lead, the Parisians have to be on their guard, because a hot dance awaits them at Stamford Bridge.
PSG are known for their dominant possession football and also had more of the game in the first leg with 58%. In the second leg, however, I expect Chelsea to control the game and keep the pressure up from the first minute to create the miracle.
The recent past of the duels also speaks for goals. In the last five meetings, both teams have always scored, and the last three games have all ended with over 2.5 goals. So everything points to another spectacle.
Chelsea Form Check
For Chelsea, it is now a historic comeback. Only three times in the history of the Champions League has a team been able to turn around a three-goal deficit from the first leg in their own stadium. The 5-2 defeat was a bitter setback after previous good performances.
Coach Liam Rosenior’s decision to rely on the young goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen proved fatal in retrospect. His uncertainty and poor decision-making in the last 20 minutes really brought PSG into the game and made the victory possible.
Although Chelsea played on an equal footing with the reigning Champions League winners for 74 minutes, the lack of experience became noticeable in the end. The young squad lacked the callousness that PSG showed in the decisive moments.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s performance in the first leg was decisive. After coming on as a substitute in the 62nd minute, he scored a brace and became the first Georgian to reach the ten-goal mark in the Champions League. An incredible performance!
Midfielder Vitinha also reached a milestone last week with his tenth goal in the Champions League. Remarkably, the Portuguese has developed a particular fondness for English opponents, as he has scored his last five goals against Premier League clubs.
