In the past few days, there were rumors that David Datro Fofana was to be loaned from Chelsea FC to AEK Athens – including a purchase option of over 20 million euros. However, this transfer has apparently fallen through, as the transfer window in Greece closed on Wednesday evening and the 21-year-old is still under contract with the Blues. A season in the stands therefore looms for the ex-Union player unless a surprising solution is found
