NFL 2024/25: Chiefs – Ravens Prediction, Stats & Odds
The new 2024 NFL season kicks off with an absolute cracker. My focus is of course on the defending champions’ season opener, but also on Derrick Henry’s debut on the other side.
According to my Chiefs Ravens tip, possibly the best running back of his generation should be able to score at least one touchdown at Arrowhead Stadium
The Purple Pain’s offense will revolve even more around the run than it already has.
The NFL is back in action – and the opening game couldn’t be better! So my focus is on the Kansas City Chiefs, the back-to-back Super Bowl winners.
As you probably already know, they’ve been in the playoffs without interruption since 2015 and have won three of the last five Super Bowls.
Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes form one of the most successful duos in history and as long as Mahomes is at the helm, the chances of winning the title again are more than good.
Sure, the Chiefs’ offense had its moments of weakness in 2023, but the drafting of Xavier Worthy may have provided some much-needed reinforcement in the wide receiver corps.
Defensively, there was both good and bad news for the Chiefs this offseason.
The loss of L’Jarius Sneed hurts, after all he was a mainstay in the secondary. But don’t worry, they may have the best defensive tackle in the league in Chris Jones after the retirement of Aaron Donald.
And George Karlaftis – this kid has really turned it on in his second year! His 10.5 sacks speak volumes. All in all, KC should still be in a good enough position in the game against the ball to at least hold their own on this first matchday.
I therefore tend to expect a low-scoring game. On the one hand, because Thursday night games are usually poor in touchdowns and on the other hand, because the two defensive lines should dominate the respective offense.
On the other side are the Ravens. A team that has made the playoffs five times in the last six years. Under coach John Harbaugh, Baltimore is an absolute perennial favorite – nine double-digit wins in the last 14 years speaks for itself.
With Lamar Jackson, now two-time MVP, the Ravens are in control. And new signing Derrick Henry is a real bulldozer in the running game. Despite some minor question marks in the offensive line, anything is possible with Jackson as the leader.
Defensively, the Ravens are also on fire – despite the departures of Jadeveon Clowney and Patrick Queen, which certainly hurt a little.
However, Odafe Oweh, Kyle Van Not and Roquan Smith have been brought in to fill these gaps. With one of the best front sevens in the league behind them, “Purple Pain” will rightly be one of the hottest Super Bowl favorites in 2024
If you look at the Chiefs Ravens betting odds, one thing quickly becomes clear: KC is expected to be the favorite at Arrowhead Stadium, so far nothing new!
With odds of 1.65 to win, the Chiefs have been calculated to have a probability of around 60%. Mahomes and Co. are therefore relatively clear favorites in the eyes of the bookmakers.
On the other hand, Baltimore has odds of 2.25. This means that you will get more than double for every euro you spend. The visitors are given a chance of around 45% here.

If you like exciting betting scenarios, there are some really interesting options within the Chiefs Ravens odds that I don’t want to withhold from you any longer.
A hot Chiefs Ravens tip is undoubtedly Derrick Henry: In his last four games against an AFC West team, he has always scored a touchdown when his team was listed as the “underdog” in the betting markets.
For the odds of 1.90, I think it’s definitely worth hoping for another Henry touchdown under these conditions.
Another interesting statistical betting approach: The Ravens have always scored the first touchdown of the game in their last 14 Week 1 games.
The odds here are 2.25. If you believe Baltimore will score the “opening points”, this could really pay off.
And last but not least: The Ravens have won the first quarter every time in their last eight opening games.
With odds of around 2.60 for “Baltimore to win the 1st quarter”, this tip could therefore be a solid addition to your combination bet. With a little luck, you can start the new football season successfully!
Conclusion: The Ravens rely heavily on their running game, and Henry is the perfect man for the job. He’s shown in recent games that he’s always good for a touchdown, even as an underdog against AFC West teams.
So it’s very likely that the new addition from the Titans will slip through the defense at least once against KC as well.
The first quarter could also belong to the Ravens – after all, they have a habit of starting a season-opening game strong. But after that, it will probably be a tough battle.
In any case, I expect a low-scoring game in which the two defenses will dominate and points will be hard to come by.
In the end, however, I’m betting on Henry because the visitors’ offense revolves very much around their strong RB
My tip: Derrick Henry scores at least one touchdown
