It was only at the beginning of January that former Bayern defender Rafinha returned to Coritiba FC, where he had already laid the foundations for his subsequent professional career from 2002 to 2005. But now it’s over again: As the Brazilian second division club announced, both clubs have agreed to terminate the contract, which was actually due to run until the end of 2025. The 39-year-old had only taken part in the Beckenbauer Cup with other Bayern icons at the beginning of the week – according to Brazilian media reports, however, he had not informed his employer of this. He played a total of 266 competitive matches for Bayern from 2011 to 2019.
