NFL 2024/25: Cowboys – Texans

Can we bury “America’s Team” this Tuesday in terms of football? According to my Cowboys Texans tip, there is no other answer to this question than a clear “yes”.

Dallas just can’t get anything done anymore. To make matters worse, it was announced a few days ago that Dak Prescott needs surgery and won’t play another game for the Cowboys this season.
In the last few weeks, I kept hoping that Dallas would get back on the winning track. After all, their roster is strong, but the losses are piling up!

You could almost say they are dogged by bad luck, and I have now finally crossed them off my list of potential NFL favorites.

Last Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles was particularly bad for them, a one-sided defeat that further increased their gap to the top and now seems to be irreversible.

What is beyond question is Dallas’ current low output in handling the ball. But the defense has shown strong moments time and again in recent weeks, even when the team as a whole has performed poorly.

One positive sign in the last game, for example, was the return of Micah Parsons, who provided five sacks against Jalen Hurts with his pass-rush quality.

Nevertheless, it was difficult for the defense because they lost the ball far too often to the Eagles due to five turnovers by the offense, meaning they were never in with a chance of winning.

The Texans, on the other hand, have been much more stable in recent weeks. Since the start of the season, they have proven to be surprisingly competitive, even though they play in a relatively difficult division.

Many of their games have been close calls – eight out of ten games were decided by just one score, and six of those by less than four points. For that reason alone, you shouldn’t select too high a handicap when betting.

Especially since another flaw of these Texans is their fragile O-line, which tends to perform poorly in league comparison. Quarterback C. J. Stroud suffers from the consequences of weak “bodyguards” in front of him, who repeatedly restrict his playing options.

Due to the strong pressure of the opposing defense, the Texans often find it difficult to get their offense going, which has often led to many sacks and “pressure” situations in recent games.

Despite this significant shortcoming, I see the Texans slightly ahead, but you can expect Dallas’ defense to keep the guests from pulling away on the scoreboard.
The return of wide receiver Nico Collins, who was out with an injury, could be a decisive factor for the Texans.

If he does return, he could provide Stroud with another key target and rack up more passing yards.

Meanwhile, if you are looking at the Cowboys-Texans odds and possible betting strategies in the Intertops app, it is worth taking a closer look at some interesting scenarios at this point.

A promising tip: Ezekiel Elliott has always scored a touchdown in the last four games against teams from the AFC South. Elliott with a touchdown for Dallas is therefore a recommended bet at odds of around 2.55.

If you look at past encounters, you can confidently place this player bet, even if Dak Prescott won’t be throwing the balls to him this time.

However, there is also a weakness in Dallas that should not be overlooked. The Cowboys are currently in last place in the NFL in terms of points in the third quarter (only 2.4 points on average).

This could open up some interesting scenarios for you immediately after the break. The Texans winning the third quarter at odds of 1.52, for example, is a good choice that would fit like a glove!

: There are still many challenges for Houston, but they seem to be a team that doesn’t give up easily.

The Texans have put in some impressive performances in recent weeks, surprising many experts. They have shaken off their role as underdogs and could well play for victory against these battered Cowboys.

Ultimately, a lot depends on the respective team spirit on Tuesday. But apart from a good defensive performance, I don’t expect too much resistance from the Cowboys!

My Cowboys Texans betting tip: Houston wins with handicap -5.5.
