SV Darmstadt 98 has signed Jean-Paul Boetius. Since the 30-year-old was last without a club, the Lilies do not have to pay a transfer fee for the midfielder. Boetius was trained at Feyenoord Rotterdam, in Germany he played for 1. FSV Mainz 05 and Hertha BSC (143 Bundesliga games, 12 goals). In September 2022, the Dutchman was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and in March 2024 the disease returned. Since summer 2024, Boetius is considered cured, and most recently he stayed fit with the U21 Feyenoord.
